“Overpriced, average, poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

I've given this place several chances, but my last was my last. Almost $30.00 for eggs, toast and bacon juice, and coffee for two????
The food is just "fair", the service is poor. Served toast that wasn't toasted, had to get up and find our server for coffee refills and to have our toast toasted. The blonde skinny cashier acts like she is doing you a favor by taking your money. Keep looking, better service and better value is available.

“Apple Dumpling!!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

This place is known for their ribs. Those were good but save room for the hot apple dumpling. It comes in a hot small iron skillet topped with vanilla ice cream. The description doesn't do it justice. Let me say this, if they had been opened when we left Memphis the next morning, we would have ordered one a piece and not shared it like we did the night before!!

“Wonderful breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

This was a great way to start the day. Good coffee, exceptional service and the bacon was to die for. Our waitress gave us some good suggestions for where to get good BBQ for dinner and what was good to see.

“Good Start to Your Day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Blue Plate Café offers breakfast and lunch. We found the food good, but not exceptional. The portions were large, the service was good and the atmosphere was very attractive. On the other hand, the sausage gravy was VERY thin and we've had better hash browns. That said, the coffee was quite good as were the black beans and the eggs were cooked to perfection. A nice escape from the same-old, same-old.

“Great southern breakfasts, bright, spacious room, art on walls, central location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Even a humble eggs and bacon breakfast turns into an extravaganza here. Minutes after you order, hot biscuits and gravy arrive at the table. Breakfast follows closely behind. Bacon is crisp, ham slice is HUGE, pancakes fluffy, grits delicious. Coffee not great. Service is fast and noise level is low. I'd definitely go back.
