In all my years of staying in hotels, I have never once checked out of a place before my reservation was up. This Doubletree was that bad.
We were slated to stay for two nights. After arriving and checking into our room, the air conditioning was so loud and squeaky when we walked in we knew we could not sleep in the room.
We went down to the desk and asked to switch rooms. We dropped our bags off in the room, which on the surface seemed ok, and headed out for the night.
The curtains in the room were not long enough to cover the window in the room, which meant a laser like beam of light directly onto the bed. Unacceptable.
The tiles in the bathroom were broken or chipped. The wall along side the toilet was clearly either badly stained or moldy plus had some sort of white substance all over the wall. Also, the trim along the wall in the bedroom was falling off and in disrepair.
At breakfast in the restaurant in the morning, the sever handed me a plate with my omelette that was so hot I nearly dropped it. Otherwise, the breakfast was fine.
When notifying the front desk we wished to leave, Anthony at the desk said I would need to contact the Diamond desk to get my points refunded (we had paid with HHonors points).
I went to the room and called the Diamond desk, who said this was not the case. When the Diamond desk tried to call the hotel they would not answer. So I had to walk down and literally hand him my phone to talk to them.
The front office manager manager, Mattie, came out and seemed almost annoyed and unapologetic.
This hotel is a complete disaster and I would never, ever stay here again. I cannot say this in stronger terms - do not stay at this hotel.
