“Peabody Hotel Duck Master and ducks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

We visited Peabody Hotel twice for the same two reasons on both visits. To visit Lanskys who clothed Elvis and many other rock stars since. The other reason was to see the world renowned spectacle called the March of the Peabody Hotel Ducks. This is an event that happens twice a day in the hotel. 5 ducks have their own suite on the roof of the hotel. At 1100 every day these Duck make their way from the roof, down to an elevator from the 11th floor and then down to the ground floor where they walk a red carpet laid for their use up a couple of steps and into the Hotels massive centre piece marble fountain. All this under the supervision of the Hotels Duck Master complete with red uniform and marching stick. We attended the spectacle twice and whilst it was great for the kids who are allowed to sit along the edge of the ducks red carpet, it isn't really a massively interesting event and is short lived. It was well attended on both occasions that we saw it, but is very boring waiting for it to happen and remember its all over in two minutes so the hotel staff telling people off for moving chairs and the like really did seem a bit over the top. We also
Purchased a cup of tea whilst we were waiting and this was very expensive. So on the second occasion we took our own drinks

“A Classic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Great hotel close to all of the action in Memphis - within walking distance to Beale St., where you'll find BB King's House of Blues, Jerry Lee Lewis' Roadhouse, and many other music establishments. Be sure to hit the BBQ spots close to the hotel as well. Catch a drink in the classic lobby filled with old school charm and watch the ducks march from the fountain to the elevator twice daily - at 11 AM and 5 PM. If you're in Memphis, this is the place to stay!!

“Quintessentially Old School hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

We popped in to see the Ducks, ended up having a couple of drinks round the fountain. The Hotel is vast, with marble throughout.
The ducks are pretty special, the cocktails in glass jars are also pretty special too.

“duck walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Go about an hour early to see the ducks. Pick a table in the lobby and have a coffee if am or a drink if pm and wait for the ducks. there is a lot of hoopla, but its all in fun.

“You have to see the duck show.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

We read and heard about the little ducks that live at the Peabody hotel. Really a unique things to see(free), especially with kids. Everyday at 11am the ducks come down the elevator from the penthouse and walk a red carpet to the fountain, where they stay until 5pm ,then they return to the Pentahouse. SOO CUTE The hotel is stunning and shops beautiful and the have a little history museum in the hotel(Free) that was very interesting. This hotel a must See
