“Nice hotel, reasonable rates.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

Check in was quick and access to rooms was very convenient. Nice and clean rooms. Early the next morning the fire alarm went off, we were all moved away from the building and put in buses to keep warm. The fire department didn't find a fire so bomb dog was brought in to check things out. Seems it was a false alarm because they didn't find anything. Everyone received a free meal for our inconvenience. It was great to have a warm bus to sit on while we waited and then get a free meal for our trouble.

The hotel is what it is! Lets face it, one of the only reasons you would probably be staying here is because your are visiting Graceland. Well, I would hope so as this hotel is right across the street. The hotel is dated, a little shabby but kind of what you would expect it to be. Amusingly the pool furniture is all made of metal so be sure to wet the towels and sit on those in the shade!!

The hotel as said is right across the street from Graceland. The hotel has a bar and does decent enough food. A shuttle service also runs regularly in to Memphis for a quick break from Elvis mania. There are a number of other local restaurants which the helpful staff can provide details on. Some will even come and pick you up direct from the hotel entrance!

All in all, if you are going to Graceland stay in this hotel. If you are just in the area, perhaps look somewhere else.

Enjoyed our stay here, yes the hotel could do with a tidy up,but liked the retro feel of it,, barman a sullen character, could do with a smile and banter, good location for Gracelands, has made me aware of Elvis and the decent man he was.

We did not expect much from the previous reviews so we were very surprised. The hotel is old and dated but we loved the retro vibe. The location to Graceland is why we chose this hotel and very glad we did. The girlfriend package was a very good value, we used the dinner vouchers for the Majestic Grill and loved it, the tickets to Graceland and the Elvis handbag was great. We had a mini suite with a kitchen and the room was larger than expected. The staff was over the top always friendly and helpful. The van driver (Dallas) that took us downtown was excellent. He was from Memphis and knew anything we asked, he was very friendly and helpful. We were dropped off at Beale and 2nd which was excellent location for the night.

Poor Elvis. He would roll over if he know how sullen the personnel are and old the facility is. Its not like we asked for anything but these folks just don't understand how to serve a guest. The hallways are full of dents, The room was sad, dated and looked bad. We were so nervous we checked the bed for bugs and kept our luggage off the floor. Its one thing to be retro, but these folks merely are living on Elvis and not caring for the property.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel.

The location is great, near Graceland, airport and downtown. From afar, it does not look pretty; the lobby looks nice though, then nothing more. The restaurant is awful. The only good thing there is the free movies of Elvis performances on the big screen. The room is old, the hallway is dirty, and the overall atmosphere is gloomy. The room is clean. The front desk staff are not friendly at all. Elvis will not be proud.
