“Very small local market”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

The market sells fresh produce which is well presented, clean and supported by locals. It has cute appeal, but there is not a lot to see. We visit markets all the time and love the atmosphere, but this one was not worth the effort to get there. The information we read said that it was a great place to have lunch, but there were no stalls selling food, only fresh produce.

“Bench Mark of Markets in Memphis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

6 years and growing. With the completion of a new "wing" there is now more than ever reason to be here every Saturday. Chefs make the rounds picking up local for their places.

Locals share the goods, their wares and stories. Music and snacks, how too, where to, and why, going on all around you.

FREE dog walking and care for your pooch

“My friends plan their visits for the MFM & S. Main Art Trolley Tours”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2011

I go every weekend but I knew it was something special when my out of town friends plan their visit by the schedule. There is free pet sitting, bike ride meet up, some sort of kid activity & at least one local artist playing great music. This is a great place to chill, mingle w/ the locals & buy local products to take home. I've also bought a couple cd's of the artists as gifts. It is located behind the the Central Station. Free car, bike parking but you can also get there by the Main St. or Riverfront Trolleys or the MATA bus. Get there early & then stroll to the histroric Arcade for breakfast.

“Memphis Farmers Market”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2009

Located in Downtown Memphis, adjacent to the South Main Arts District, this market is the place to be on Saturday mornings (actually 7a-1p), late April through October. Vendors come from Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee to sell flowers, vegetables, meats, cheeses, plants, crafts, breads, desserts, and more. Activities include cooking demos by area chefs, crafts for kids, and great music by local musicians. There is a Market Cafe with a great selection of pastries and delicious coffee. There is plenty of free parking (or you could take the Main Street trolley to the G.E. Patterson stop) and the prices at the market are excellent. Pet-sitting is even available. It's a fabulous place to spend some time on a Saturday morning, even if you're not planning to cook during your trip to Memphis!
