Itta Bena's is the restaurant above B. B. King's restaurant on Beale Street. Make sure you tell the hostess when you enter on ground level that your reservation is with Itta Bena, as it makes a difference. (We had some confusion as they showed no reservation for us and, after a fashion, found us a table). Then I mentioned it was with Itta Bena and we were then escorted back through the restaurant and upstairs.
I took a group of 8 people here and it was fine. Not "over the top" (see my review of The Flight restaurant in Memphis) but just fine.
Itta Bena's is a great place to close a business deal or have a private meeting, as there are rooms that allow you to be separated from the crowd, which we were. My pasta wasn't served hot, which was disappointing, but everyone else in my party said their food was great. Adequate service, but--again--not over the top. It was easy to have a conversation and pretty quiet but if you want raucous reverie then downstairs is the place for you.
I'd return, perhaps with a smaller group next time.
