We just returned from Elvis Week 2008. Spent l0 days in Memphis as we do each August. We took the tour this year (we usually do it each 5 years... 20th, 25th, 30th.. but didn't get too last year. They take your picture before you board your bus to the mansion. The driver on the way over didn't speak. As always I am in awe to be standing inside of Elvis' home. I took a lot of pictures (no flash, of course). We were not rushed in any way and often lingered in rooms to look longer I enjoyed seeing all the momentos and flowers sent to Graceland from all over the world that lined the drive up by the Meditation Garden. The drive back to the ticket center was fun, ans the driver had us singing and laughing! Picked up our Graceland picture and it turned out great. Nice keepsake of our visit. We checked out all the musuems and the airplanes our ticket included which are small but very informative and interesting. I highly recommend the tour if your an Elvis fan. We also did the vigil walking up the driveway with our lighted candles about 2:00 am on the morning of the 16th. This is the highlight of our trip. Its a beautiful and touching tribute to our king of rock and roll.

My husband who has been an Elvis fan forever has fulfilled his dream to go to Graceland. My daughter, son à-in-law and me accompanied him to Graceland in June and we just loved it. Everything is so well organised . I recommend the V.I.P. tour as you have front--of-the-line access to everything with your own private guide and it is well worth the extra money.

A true Elvis fan must stay at Hearbreak Hotel which is on the same ground as Graceland (a 5-minute walk). At this hotel, everything is Elvis from pictures in the room to his Tours and Shows on videos in the lobby and in the dining room. For the atmosphere you must also go to Marlowe's (they pick you up at Hearbreak Hotel and take you to the restaurant in a pink limousine for free.) The food was nothing to rave about but we had great fun. The gift shop at the restaurant has souvenirs that are less expensive than Graceland gift shops..

To complete the trip (3 days is enough) we rented a car and went to Tupelo where Elvis was born. it is about 100 miles from Memphis and am not sure it is worth the trip but again my husband loved it. The house they show you is not at all the shack where Elvis was born and finally there was not much to see in Tupelo. I do not recommend it.

All in all, even if you are not an Elvis fan, you will enjoy your trip to Graceland for its organisation and the friendliness of its staff. Memphis people are also very friendly.

A 50th party or a visit to Gracelands was my husbands choice no contest so off to Gracelands i travelled with my sister-in-law ( who isnt a great fan but came for the ride!!!)
While I felt cheated because it didnt seem to live up to the dreams I had of the place I would always say if you are a fan then go.
Back when Elvis would have bought the place it would have been amansion but by todays standerds no, as someone remarked while we walked around "I have seen bigger council houses!!!)
It is an experience and one I am glad that I took.

Being my dream and a promise the day Elvis died i managed at long last to get there ...My Husband took me for my 40th birthday.
It was fantastic, people real friendly,Beale street was a blast... It surpassed my wildest dreams and i certainly felt as if i got to know Elvis that much more as a person as well as entertainer.
Last year i was lucky enough to go again .....and I must say it was alot more of a dream come true,if i ever thought it could be. I have made some long standing friendships and will certainly go again. So Elvis is still and will always draw the crowd, I love him so much!!!! All i can say to finish is THANKYOU !!!!!!!
