I doubt that my review will hang round for long but this is a must see in Memphis, and probably why most people will go, but a couple of points to make.
I have seen plenty of reviews that say that the neighbourhood is terrible - we didn't see any sign of this and there are plenty of people about..
The parking is steep at $10, but apparently the nearby strip malls are free but there are reviews saying their car was broken into, so maybe the fee is worth paying, OR, if you've downtown, get the Sun Studio shuttle from the Stax Museum or other drop off and that's free!
So, for the exhibits, there's plenty of them and you can easily spend a day here. So it probably does justify its price.
The tour of the house is relatively short, but we weren't rushed through and this does seem to give an idea of the actual person, then there are other exhibits just to drive in to you how amazingly successful he was.
Take your time and enjoy it, we are far from Elvis nuts but we were entertained all day and so many souvenir shops to look round - I love them! If you have a spare $2,000 maybe you could buy your own jumpsuit...
