“Pretty decent - one bad thing, read about below”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

So we were so excited we booked our room with 2 queen beds and read all the rooms are on floors 9 to 15 (1 to 9) is parking , but No the rooms on floors 9 to 15 are only two DOUBLE beds. on floor one theres like 5 rooms with queens. so we were stuck on the bottom floor with NOOOO view at all ;( decent rooms, great price, pretty close to DT.

Room Tip: Book a room w/ TWO DOUBLES even if you like queens, it will be a better room

Had a great time here, rooms very nice, breakfast fantastic, 2 min walk to Trolley to take you to Beale Street and Lorraine Motel, Peabody Hotel etc or you could walk to most places. All day pass $3.50. Very nice view overlooking the Memphis Bridge and Pyramid, Staff very friendly, free tea and coffee all day and cookies at 3pm! Main Street very safe and picturesque. Would highly recommend for price.

Room Tip: Ask for view of bridge

I reviewed this hotel once before, I had to do it again to say it's still outstanding. The location is great, rooms are great, the staff is great, $8 a night to park is great, and the breakfast is fantastic. They even added NBC Sports Network to the available channels on the TV, so that addresses the only "complaint" from my previous review. Keep up the good work!

Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Room was clean except, and this is not a complaint about the housekeeping staff in any way, but the tiles in the bathroom were badly mildewed. There is no ventilation in these tiny bathrooms. They need a power wash from time to time to get rid of it.
Otherwise I would definitely recommend this hotel.

arrived at the hotel 3hrs before check in.no problem, room was ready and the front desk person gave us the keys right away.the hotel is clean and very quiet.nothing flashy, pretty run of the mill, but the maid service was excellent, clean room and towels daily.the daily breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, hot or cold cereals, bagels, make your own waffles, plus eggs and sausages.the best part was walking right outside to catch the trolley.for $1 you could travel down to beale st,or take the short ride on the riverside loop.if in the neighborhood make sure you stop at the blue plate cafe, nice menu and local art was all over the walls.quiet neighborhood felt safe walking around.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Our room was clean and spacious with two very comfortable double beds. A TV, a clean fridge, and coffee making facilities were all at hand. The staff were very friendly and the service, especially at breakfast was very efficient, with lots of food choice. The outdoor swimming pool is not heated so the water was too cold, however its great for catching the sun and offers fantastic views of the Mississippi river and beyond.
The hotel is located within a 10 minute walk from Beale Street or you can take one of the street cars for just $1. There were plenty bars and restaurants nearby and the whole area felt safe. I would definitely stay here again. Elvis forever.

Room Tip: Ask reception for a room with a river view - there is no additional charge!

Unlike Nashville there is no option in Memphis to stay out of town, so I stayed here. It is about a mile from the Civil Rights Museum & not too far from Beale Street. The room was clean, breakfast was very good & the swimming pool outside was memorable!

Downside : Lots of staff walking around at reception or in car park talking to eachother, doing nothing or eating their lunch at reception. In a place like Memphis I found that kind of creepy. I was on the ground floor on the main street and had a poor nights sleep. The air conditioning had to come on and was very load. In the evening time there was security and a police car there for a while. My stuff was save but decided 1 night was enough in Memphis!

Room Tip: Try and get a room higher up in the hotel. The ground floor was noisy! The air conditioning was also...
