“Very quiet hotel, away from Beale Street, but easy to get there.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

Lovely complimentary morning coffee & cold afternoon drinks in foyer. Rooms good and bathroom fair size. Asked about a safe in room, had them for hire but all out which was worrying. Driver of complementary transport really helpful, wold take us most places but just started at Beale street and cold get everywhere from there with shuttle buses provided for attractions. Especially helpful as we arrived before 7 am and had coffee and used free Internet while we waited for our room which was available within the hour. Also used trolley service to get to and fro Beale street and that stopped outside next door hotel....easy !!!!!

Room Tip: Our room overlooked motorway but no noise from this. So every room must have been good.

Stayed for 2 nights in the crowne plaza. The hotel is good but offers not much "ambiance": comfortable beds, good showers but the airco was rather noisy so we had to turn it off. The hotel is within walking distance of Beale street (20min), but the Crowne provides a free shuttle service to anywhere in Memphis.
Pool was still closed beause of weather conditions, staff told us it never opens during spring time.

Hotwire hooked us up with these accomodations. It is located on the very edge of downtown, and is a bit of a hike to Beale St. and the attractions in that area. They do offer a shuttle service, which was very convenient and the driver is very nice.

It is also on the trolley line, if you prefer to buy a pass or pay as you go.

The rooms was nice and clean.

The bartender was very nice, but the bar closes rather early. I did not see any popcorn. I would have loved some popcorn!

We were awakened by the fire alarms one night and most of us exited via the fire exit. The staff that night were at their workstations unfazed. Supposedly, an employee set it off by accident. There were no apologizes for the disturbance, which was a bit disappointing.

I really liked the self parking. We would come and go as we wished.

The night manager was very nice. Other desk clerks were not as friendly.

CP is a bit North of the main attractions in downtown, so a long walk or "free" shuttle ride by the friendly CP staff are the options. THE GOOD: Rooms were clean and relatively quiet, staff was very friendly, bed comfortable, free coffee, lemonade, popcorn in the lobby, free and fast wifi in the rooms. NOT SO GOOD: Surprise $15/$18 parking fee per night (this location is NOT central downtown but charging downtown rates). We wished the bar/lobby area was a bit nicer and updated, not much ambiance and not very motivated to drink or eat there. Need to walk some pretty good blocks or drive to get to any restaurants or attractions. TV remote was a bit old and hard to navigate (no channel guide). Overall, I would give CP a 3* hotel rating. Updated lobby and no parking fee would get it to a 4*

Room Tip: Stay on the South side on a higher floor. Highway traffic on the north side and you don't want...

We got a very good deal through priceline. Our room was nice, updated and clean. Every single person that was working at the hotel was very nice and helpful. One thing I notices was every person I saw was busy doing something. (cleaning the floors, windows, etc.) Tongela was very helpful with all our questions and informative. We used the shuttle a couple of different times and it was convenient and the drivers were nice and accomadating. (You have to check with valet and the shuttle can only take 7 people at a time so there may be a bit of a wait)

The hotel is at least a mile from Beale Street but it is a very easy walk. We walk alot so we actually enjoyed the walk. You are also only a block or two from the trolly which we also used.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Enjoyed our stay, room was nice with nice linens. Hotel was a little tired looking for a Crowne Plaza but our stay was good. Upon arriving and checking in hotel employee went thru the required words with no extra and no friendliness. Came down later and ask her as she was making popcorn what was in the drink dispenser and she had the same unfriendly manner and said she didn't know the restaurant did that. My friend then approached the bar to get a beer to go and the bartender ignored him for quite a long period of time as she was talking on cell phone to her children. Used the shuttle going to Beale Street and it was nice and the driver was friendly. However when we called for a ride back we were told 20 minutes and he told us where he would pick us up we waited and saw him drive right past us. Ended up taking a taxi back to the hotel. Other than some customer service issues it was pleasant and would stay again. Did think the parking price was high and should be included in the price of the room.

Won this on hotwire, but definitely would not pay regular rate. Room was nice and beds comfy. Had room 618 facing pool. Enjoyed popcorn and free drinks in the lobby. Breakfast was good, but not worth $13. Dinner prices were reasonable with most items $10 or less. Parking ridiculous $18! We did not have a car, but still thought it was pricey. Location was ok, you can take the trolley or free hotel shuttle downtown, but if you take the trolley you have to walk across street and through the Marriott which was awkward. The only negative was the shuttle driver I believe Reginald. He has a horrible disposition with customers. Also, he did not show up to pick us up one night. We were 2 ladies out at 11pm in the cold! Told us he would be there 15 min and after he had not shown up in 30 min we checked back in. He said give him another 7 min and don't be too testy with him! We waited 7 more min and he still did not show. We ended up catching a cab. The other driver Cleo was AWESOME! The pool area looked nice and refreshing, but was closed in April. An indoor pool or spa would have been nice. They charged us $.85 for a phone call from our room. We called the hotel shuttle driver to check availability for a ride downtown. I never heard of a hotel charging you to call the hotel! That was insane! I could understand if we called outside the hotel, but we called downstairs??? To top it all off, I left my jacket in the room. Have called several times for lost and found, but they keep transferring me to the housekeeping voicemail. Nobody has bothered to return my call :-(

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool. Do not stay on the side facing highway!
