We couldn't decide on a tour, so asked for advice when we called to book. They offered to do a "general" tour of our desired length. Perfect!
Lissy (guide) and Tonto (our horsepower) arrived right on time, picking us up outside of The Peabody after the evening duck march. The Cinderella type carriage had blue velvet cushions, a warm blanket and blue lights around the frame-- my 11dd was in absolute heaven!
They had recently enclosed the carriages in a clear plastic to shield passengers from the weather. I am SO glad that they did--I just wish that poor Lissy had some protection from the weather as well! Her hat kept getting whipped off, while we stayed quite comfortable inside our "bubble".
We did an hour long tour and hit all the highlights-- including some recommendations for dinner. Lissy was quite knowledgable and willing to answer our (many) random questions. It was so good that we didn't realize that an hour had passed until we pulled back up to The Peabody!
For $75, plus tip, I think it was a great value--especially if you don't have a lot of time to spend in Memphis. I wasn't that interested in seeing Memphis before the tour, but now I wish I had more time to spend there!
