“A warm welcome awaits you”

What to expect from Brora Lodge:
Friendly hosts, peace, really comfortable beds in a spotlessly clean room, wonderful cooked breakfast in the conservatory overlooking fabulous views. A lovely place to be.
Wigtown is good for 2nd hand bookshops and live footage of Ospreys nesting. We had trouble finding a nice place for an evening meal. The Wigtown Ploughman had poker night on Monday so was not serving food. The next night the bistro was still closed so we ate in the bar, which had a TV at each end. Not good. If you go to Portpatrick try Campbells Restaurant. We had a lovely 2 course lunch for £10.

The Brora Lodge is what every visitor to a hotel or B & B wants. It has a really fantastic couple who run it,great food, night or day, nice selection of wines, and lovely friendly manner! This is the jewel in the crown of the Galloway "off the main track" accomodation !! The rooms are first class ,bright, airy, and very comfortable(loads of room too!).The view from the breakfast room is breathtaking, with all sorts of animal, flora and fowl (lots of birds to interest the twitchers). The owners take the time to chat and care for your needs and I will re-visit on my first opportunity,go on and visit the beautiful people of Brora Lodge whilst taking in the Views surrounding the B& B.

The hospitality offered by Helen and Peter could not be better. Their house is immaculate, rooms very comfortable and breakfast excellent. There are superb views over the bay from their conservatory which guests can use . The location is ideal for walking and touring and Wigtown itself with all the bookshops and coffee shops is well worth a visit. In the Town Hall you can watch live coverage of the local osprey nest . Wigtown is not ideal for restaurants in the evening (there don't seem to be any!) but Helen booked a table for us in the Bladnoch Inn, just a mile's brisk walk away, where the food was first rate. There is so much to do in the area that we will have to return and will certainly stay in Brora Lodge again.

If you are looking for a place to stay in or around Wigtown, then this is the place for you.
This modest looking bungalow has all you need for a comfortable stay. It has a stunning view over Wigtown Bay, very pleasant rooms and excellent cooking. We were welcomed with a cup of tea and biscuits.
But the diamonds of this B&B are Helen and Pete. They made our holiday, we can’t wait to go back.
And Helen if you are reading this, Thank you very, very much for looking after us.

We stayed at this wonderful B&B for 2 very comfortable nights. We don't usually stay at B&Bs, as we have a small baby and prefer the flexibility and privacy of a holiday apartment. However, Helen and Pete were wonderful hosts, providing everything we needed and lots of little extras along the way that really made the stay special.
Bora Lodge is situated on the edge of the picturesque village of Wigtown, with magnificent views of the Galloway Forest, the estuary, and beautiful farmland. It's also just a few minutes drive from the Galloway Forest, a fantastic must-see for all visitors to the area.
The rooms were very well appointed, with excellent beds and a spotless ensuite shower room.

After a quiet and restful nights sleep, the breakfast was something else, consisting of pretty much anything you could conceive of, freshly prepared for you at a time convenient for you (order taken the day before), and everything great tasting home-cooking.

We can't fault this place, and when you consider the low rate too, it's a little gem that we will definitely return to.

My son and I only spent one night in this lovely bed-and-breakfast, but would happily have stayed longer. Peter and Helen are delightful - incredibly helpful and efficient, providing everything you want even if it means making a special effort (like cream with the porridge...which was excellent), and just being generally warm, friendly and wonderfully easy-going. Our room was extremely comfortable, the whole place was spotless and beautifully kept, and you can sense the real devotion they have for their place. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and Wigtown is a really nice little town. Thoroughly recommended.
