“Well worth the stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

We stayed at the Brora Lodge for three nights in June 2012. It was very comfortable and the owners were very welcoming. The views from the breakfast room/conservatory are absolutely wonderful and Peter will cook a beautiful breakfast from an extensive choice - my personal favourite was undyed smoked haddock with a poached egg.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay

We have tried several B and Bs in this area but Brora Lodge is the best. It may look like an ordinary bungalow from the road but it hides a view from the breakfast conservatory that is unsurpassed. It looks across an RSPB reserve and the veiw stretches to Cumbria on the far side of the Solway Firth. The bedrooms are comfortable, very clean, and the breakfasts are tasty and well prepared. There's plenty of interest around the area and the bookshops in Wigtown are worth a browse. The owners are friendly and welcoming without being too attentive - they seem to have things just right.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good. It's a comfortable place and there's ample off-road parking.

We stayed at Borra Lodge on a recent short break for two nights, it was a wonderful experience.
We were welcomed with coffee and a chat and shown to an outstanding room, with everything one could wish for from a B+B.

Both the full breakfast on the first morning and the delicious omleltte on the second morning were top drawer.

A fine B+B run by a friendly couple.

We stayed for 2 nights recently and were very comfortable and well looked after by the friendly owners. The breakfast was very good and plentiful.

All in all, good value for money.

Had a nice one-night stay. The owners were friendly and helpful and the room and breakfast were both great. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our second stay at brora lodge and as the last time I cant find anything to complain about, it really is just about perfect. I decided to try the haddock for breakfast on our second morning and it was lovely. This is a perfect base for the Galloway forest park which is a good place to spend some time. At the end of the day this is a great b & b in a fantastic location that gives good value for money with a couple who are perfect hosts. Looking forward to my 3rd visit.
