“Sunday lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014 via mobile

Visiting Stranraer for the day, myself and other family stopped here for Sunday lunch. We were all happy with the quality of the food and the price. Our waitress was a very pleasant young girl and we had no complaints about the service. Would probably eat there again if in the area.

“Great staff, food not as good as last time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2014

As always the staff were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately the food had gone a little downhill since my last visit, it was edible and quick to our table just not as good as I expected. There also seemed to be a little issue with flies inside which the staff were aware of but had been unable to do anything about it. Tops marks to the bar staff, maybe we were just unlucky with the food.

“Poor Poor Poor”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

Do not book a large table as they will try and block you in so that if there is a fire half of you wont make it.

Poor staffing: standing around giggling like a bunch of schoolgirls, clearing plates when people are still eating. Yes we are a large group but never felt so rushed out of anywhere.

Poor food: do not pre order they obviously keep it under a hot plate and hope you finish your starter before it goes so tough that the pathetic excuse for a steak knife bends when you cut.

Poor attitudes: dont ask to complain as the staff then have a confab about it and they talk to you twice before the "manager" comes over.

Turns out the manager doesnt come over to begin with. She sends the waitress over again. She really should be managing not serving.

Then to finish it off, they are all huddled together talking about us. The youngest of the girls to serve us was the nicest of them and is exempt from this. Cant fault her service at all and she was sent as the cannon fodder to deliver the desserts.

Poor, poor, poor.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

“Get the Big Chicken Burger”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

Was in Stranraer for the night and called in for a bite. Most comfortable 'normal' city type pub I was in....and I was in a few!!

The locals take their work boots off at the door!!

You have to get the big chicken burger. Two southern fried breasts with onion rings.

Great service and a crisp pint of Peroni helped wash it down
