We visited here after reading previous revues. What a disappointment. When we realised the bar was so small and dominated by a huge TV, we asked if we could sit in the adjoining restaurant. We had our drinks by that point and we had to wrestle them through two very heavy doors. The barmaid could have offered to place them at the other end of the same bar, she wasn't busy. The restaurant was almost empty, we should have had the alarm bells going by now !
We weren't told that some items on the menu were unavailable and our first choice transpired to be one of them.
Hubby ordered an 8oz cheeseburger which arrived on a cold plate to accommodate the salad. The burger was dry and plastered with overcooked and tough mozzarella. The frozen chips were the best bit about it.
I ordered lasagne, again served on a cold plate to accommodate the salad. It was lukewarm at best, stringy and devoid of much in the way of meat. The excessive use of herbs couldn't disguise the poor quality. Again the frozen chips were the best bit.
We felt ignored by the staff who were in the bar by the TV. No one came near to ask if all was OK and cleared our plates, with a lot of uneaten food, so quickly, we didn't have time to complain.
The toilet furniture is way beyond needing replacing. Black toilet seat faded to light grey was off putting to say the least.
Why this is currently showing as number one in the area is a total mystery to us.
