This is a gem of a find ! Guest House with five star hotel touches. Very friendly owners who can't do enough for you. Stunning room with stunning views and lots of nice touches - chocs on the pillows, wine, strawberries, shortbread, biscuits and a variety of tea, coffee and hot chocolate drinks to choose from as well as bottled water. Absolutely spotless and fresh towels and bathrobes daily which I never would have expected for just a two night stay. Both the bedroom and the en-suite bathroom are enormous and finished to a very high standard. We made good use of the swimming pool and hot tub (there is also a sauna and various pieces of gym equipment which we didn't use) and were lucky enough to have it all to ourselves. We stayed in Thornbank House which is a few minutes drive from the Main Hotel building and I would request a room here when we go again. Fiona the owner is so friendly and helpful. She kept my husband's medication in her fridge and put our ice blocks in her freezer for our cool bag for the journey home. On arrival we were even offered a lift into the town centre if we wanted. Breakfast was both outstanding and enormous and was made for a time specified by ourselves which was fab. Have already been recommending this accommodation to friends and family.

Room Tip: Ask for the executive double/twin - it's a stunning room

Clean and comfy. Good breakfast, and the host were wonderful! Nice views over Loch Ryan, some noise on The Saturday night, but not too bad. A very good centre to explore from, as you are in walking distance of the town itself. Very handy if you are overnighting before catching the ferry.

We stayed in the main hotel building with standard facilities in hotel room. Small but had everything we needed. The bed was really comfy and everything spotlessly clean. It's also dog-friendly and they were more than happy accommodating our puppy who slept in her crate at night. She was even allowed down with us for breakfast and given some brekkie by the owners. Very impressed by how welcoming they were of our dog. Breakfast was delicious with generous portions. Basic hotel but brilliant pitstop for one night between travelling on ferry from Ireland and home to Glasgow. My only disappointment was that the adjoining bar/restaurant was not open but we found another pub not too far away.

Room Tip: Narrow flight of stairs which is a nightmare to carry up heavy suitcases - be aware!

Stayed at Thornbank House, absolutely the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. The Jacuzzi Room was epic, with loads of extras. The view over Loch Ryan was great and the Leisure facilities included Gym Equipment, Sauna Cabin, Hot Tub and Swimming Pool with Slide. Fiona is a lovely host and would do anything to help you out.

Room Tip: The Jacuzzi Room is nothing short of epic!

We have just returned from the most marvellous stay in a beautiful large room overlooking Loch Ryan in Thornbank House, which is a luxury option within the hotel owners large home with extensive gardens and heated swimming pool with hot tub, slide and fitness machines. The house is a couple of minutes drive along the main road from the hotel and you will be most impressed at the high standard of accommodation, welcome, breakfast and facilites. There are two luxury rooms, both with a sea view - one room with a jacuzzi bath shower and the other with a state of the art steam shower. We were shown both rooms by Fiona and asked which we preferred. The bedding was of a high standard and the decor was modern with a large flat screen TV. To call this accommodation Bed and Breakfast seems a bit of an understatement. It is without doubt the best B & B we have experienced anywhere in the UK - more akin to the luxury private accommodation available in large beautiful private homes in South Africa and the Napa Valley in California. We had a soft comfortable bed and the rooms were quiet and peaceful as they faced the sea. A tray of tea, coffee and biscuits was available and two bottles of water were thoughtfully left for us with stem glasses. We were sorry to leave this lovely house so soon and hope to return with some friends for a leisure trip in the not too distant future for another swim in the wam pool and to relax in the lovely surroundings. An absolute 10 out of 10 in every way.

Room Tip: Both rooms in the Thornbank House face the sea and are quiet.
