“Jenny made me part of the family.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

Dalbeattie and the surrounding towns are not over-endowed with hotels, so I selected Trewan for its proximity to the place I was visiting.

Jenny has an enormous carpark at the back of the house and a beautiful garden. She has arranged a kind of bridge, so you can wheel your suitcase right to bedroom level, from the garden. [There are about 6 or 8 steps from the car park down to the garden]. I had a bedroom with a glorious view to the hills on the other side of town and the sun poured in during the evening.

The room had a television, a kettle kit and a 3 piece shower room. Jenny served breakfast in the big kitchen and finished it while I waited [and chatted], so everything was fresh. One of the choices was home made jam on toast to follow the full Scottish breakfast. she had a fund of local knowledge, when making recommendations.

Next time I'm in D+G, I'll stay at Trewan.

Room Tip: I think there are only 2 and I think they face the same way.

We made one mistake; we stayed for only one night! Jenny made our first night in Scotland wonderful and was a great host when we were visited in the garden by newly discovered family we were fortunate to have an opportunity to meet when we traveled. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfast as well as Jenny's company made for a memorable though short stay. An absolute gem!

Lovely building with beautiful gardens. Jenny was super friendly and helpful, and her dogs are lovely and friendly. Very quaint, like staying at your grandmother's. Never made it for breakfast unfortunately. Room had tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc and had everything you would need. Would stay again and would recommend.

This B&B is in a beautiful setting. The room was of a good size, nicely decorated and kept very clean throughout our stay. My better half was particularly impressed with the cooked breakfast, the perfect way to set us up for a day's walking in the forest. On the one day it rained, Jenny kindly dried our wet clothes overnight ready for the sunny day that followed. We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be returning. Thank you Jenny!

Had a fantastic time at this B&B!

Me and my partner are keen cyclists so chose this B&B based on it's proximity to the Dalbeattie Forest and it's MBTs. Also being an amateur artist I was thrilled when I discovered the stunning views and fantastic on site studio to finish off any paintings you didn't get to finish on your trips.

The rooms are extremely comfortable and lovely to relax in after a hard days cycling and the atmosphere was beautifully serene. We would also highly recommend the nice little local pubs which are less than a 5minute walk away!

The owner Jenny was fantastic too as we came in absolutely soaked from one trip and she tumble dried our things for us!

I would highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to visit this beautiful area. We have already booked our next trip to come back!

Thank you!

Secure storage for the bikes, ride straight into Dalbeattie forest from the B&B, lovely host, Perfect!

This is a gem of a B&B perfect for MTB trips. Massaging beds ... local butcher produce breakfast ... great porridge cannot fault this stay.

If you're after a great Italian meal after a hard days riding try Luigi's ... that is one of the nicest meals I've had in a while.
