This hotel was booked with Highland Heritige tours after a leaflet came through our door,we was aware that the journey would take 10hrs as we were travelling from sheffield but with the rest stops the journey quickly passed, on arrival at the hotel we were told the manager would come on to the coach and give us our room numbers then we disembarked into the hotel straight to our room and the key was in the door and our luggage was there also, very organised everyone was checked in in a matter of minutes.
The meals i thought were quite good 3 choices every evening, once you are seated you keep the same place throughout your stay a good idea i thought as with everyone eating at the same time there is no rushing about to get your "favourite" seat, breakfast was much the same 8 45 everything is brought to your table you have nothing to do only eat!
The room we had was no11 on the ground floor facing the rear the room was compact but had everything for a short stay tea, coffee, and cookies, fruit bowl ,bath robes, hair dryer, flat screen telly small bath and one of the best showers i have ever used really hot and powerful,The decor itself is dated but not in the room long enough for it to ruin the stay, i would have no worries about stopping here again!!!

This was my first time with Highland Heritage and I will certainly be using them again the food was excellent the staff were very good nothing to much trouble. The pick up was very smooth with plenty of breaks. The days out were very good the trip to Oban was nice for me as I had not been there since I was at school. The entertainment was also very good I even managed a third prize in the fancy dress. It was good to see the hand gel being used everywhere that virus is a bad one.All the drivers were very good and helpful the feeder coach driver waited with us in the lay by till our taxi came.I also want to mention the phone call I had the next day to see if I got home ok.I look forward to my next holiday with them.

Absolutely first class from being picked up by Gary at Long Eaton we very impressed as previous feeder coach journeys have been a nightmare. At the hotel our cases were taken to our room.. The staff were wonderful nothing was to much trouble and all done with a smile. The trips were wonderful. If you are lucky enough to get Ann-ISH as you driver on you trip to Mallaig she is a font of knowledge( THANK YOU Ann we could'nt stop smiling after we got off the coach. As we left the hotel our cases were carried from our room and put on the coach for our journey home after a lovely time. We hope to go again next year to be pampered once more. thank you Utta and you wonderful staff. Eric & Margaret Severn

Having heard scary stories of lots of feeder coaches and long journeys to Tyndrum, we travelled to the hotel by train, where we joined the rest of our coach party for the excursions. Mum (aged 87) was in a wheelchair and the staff could not have been more helpful. In particular Graham and Peter (our coach drivers) were wonderful. They were extremely patient - and our fellow coach passengers were great too. Our party consisted of me (aged 52), my sister (aged 65) and a friend (aged 30). The holiday is definitely aimed at those who like to sit back and enjoy the ride, rather than those looking for lots of activities. The excursions went through some fantastic scenery and there were plenty of coffee stops. The hotel was warm, comfortable and the food was very good, but traditional. Considering what we paid it was excellent value for money. The evening entertainment was variable, but not because of the quality of entertainers - more a reluctance to join in by our fellow guests at the hotel. The two evening singers were very good and the singer/comedian spot on (my face ached by the end of the evening), but the accordian players had a tough job !! People perhaps did not know the dances and because of the room layout, it did feel a little like you were on Strictly Come Dancing !! That didn't bother our party - we were there to have a good time - and we did! A holiday is what you make of it.

It was with trepidation that my friend and myself embarked on what I would have called a Coach Holiday, I was to say very pleasantly surprised. We flew to Edinburgh from Southampton with Flybe and again were very impressed with this airline.
We were picked up dead on time by our coach and taken to The Royal for our weeks accomodation. Our room and food all week were first class and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The coach outings were all well planned and informative, the highlight being the trip to Mull. This trip has converted an old man to worry free holidays.

We recently returned from a holiday with Highland Heritage staying at the Royal Hotel Tyndrum. On joining the coach we instantly knew it was a mistake as the coach was full of people aged 70/75 plus, on boarding the coach we were asked to use the hand gel provided every time you left the coach and reboarded. On arriving at the hotel we were given our rooms, which were definately in need of a makeover. We were told dinner would be at 7pm there is no flexability everyone is seated at the same time, you were seated at a table which you were then expected to have for the rest of the week, regardless of the fact you may be seated with someone who you did not gel with, which is what happened in our case we spoke to the manager and explained we would like to be seated somewhere else and were told that was not possible that we we have to spend the whole week with two men who were not on our wave length. However after pointing out that as a manager it was her job to do her best to resolve the situation so after along discussion we were moved to another table. The entertainment in the evening was geared for the older person with sequence dancing. There were no credit card facilities everything was cash including the optional tours which were CASH only no receipt given ???? WHOEVER HEARD OF A LARGE HOTEL THESE DAYS HAVING NO CARD FACILITIES. The whole holiday was regimented, rushed, and worked to a time table did not feel relaxed. Even the trips every day there was very little time to appreciate the surroundings . My friend and I are late 50s early 60s. I feel it should be pointed out in the brochure that this type of holiday is suited more to the over 70s. Would never go again!!!
