“Fantastic!!!!”

Rosslea Hall Country House Hotel

York, North Yorkshire
Mar 10, 2008

My boyfriend and I were looking for a relaxing, yet fun get away together, after trawling the internet for hours I stumbled across The Rosslea Hotel, as there were few photos of the hotel and had mixed reviews I was rather dubious but we eventually decided to book the hotel.

We drove to Loch Lomond from Yorkshire so after a long journey we were relieved to finally arrive. On arrival the staff were all welcoming and friendly, we were very impressed with the setting as it looks out onto the loch. But we were far more impressed with the hotel itself. It was five star standard. The hotel was beautiful, but best of all was the bedroom, we had a queen size bed, L.C.D TV, beautiful views, the entire hotel is immaculate and stylishly presented. The food was also fantastic, with the choice of a bar meal or a restraunt meal. Both are lovely.

Overall our stay at the hotel was fantastic. I would love to go again, and it would be a fantastic venue for any special event!!!! Defiantly go you won't regret it!!! We certainly didn’t!!!!

“Pleasant Hotel”

Rosslea Hall Country House Hotel

Jan 3, 2008

Rosslea Hall is a pleasant hotel that caters well for business and leisure users. I use the hotel for work in the area, but it is also well located for hillwalking and exploring the area around Loch Lomond and Loch Fyne (home of the seafood restaurant chain).

Facilities are to the standard you'd expect in a decent hotel and there has been recent renovation works that give the rooms a new feel.

The rooms are of a reasonable size, with a decent bathroom.

The bar area is quite sparse, but comfortable. The food is good, but the variety is a bit limited. I recommend the Haggis, which was gorgeous, but the portion was a bit small for me. The breakfasts were excellent.

The staff are friendly and attentive, but I did have to wait a while for service at the bar or breakfast occasionally.

For a change in scenery, the Rhu Inn over the road is welcoming and comfortable with a wide range of Whiskies and a roaring fire.

I'd also recommend the Great Wall chinese restaurant in Helensburgh, which is a £5 taxi ride away.

“Great Hotel”

I've stayed here many times over the years, and to be honest, I've been dissapointed in the past. Foreign workers and grubby rooms. However, it's been refurbished and is an excellent hotel.
Great food, fantastic rooms, and really nice staff, all local folk.
Highly recommended, and quite a turnaround from how it was!!

“Recently refurbished”

Rosslea Hall Country House Hotel

This hotel has been recently totally refurbished and overall the impression is very good. Nice, clean, modern stylish rooms, lovely food and friendly staff. If there had to be one little (teeny weeny) criticism it would be that the cleaning staff need to advise the maintenance staff when there are spotlight bulbs out in the rooms and make sure they are replaced quickly. There were a fair few out in our room which made it a bit hit and miss with make up and hair drying etc. We did mention it to staff when we were there so we hope they've taken it on board.

We also had a reduced rate as it was a very late booking, but I'm not sure I would have been happy paying full price for our room (£140), lovely as it was.
