This is the first time we have eaten in this hotel since it opened back up for 15 years we have always went to this hotel for something to eat on our way back from our holidays up the top of Scotland well I am very sorry to say this but we will never be back my poor mum had the smoked salmon with salad which was no more that a few bits of salmon and three kinds of lettuce in it my friend and myself had the fish and chips which when it came we thought it was a kids portion we had got and the meals are not cheap so sad cause we always loved eaten here too.

“A wee gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013 via mobile

Great food, great craic, barman who knew his whiskies and a friendly wee polish waitress who loved the open fire as much as we did. Thanks for a great evening.

“another good evening meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Pub tea for 3. Fish & Chips and Ribeye Steak then Sticky toffee Pudding Sundae, Pavlova and Cheese. Gins, beers and a couple of glasses of wine £105. Only complaint was a rather chewy base to the Pavlova. Excellent steak and lovely cheeseboard.

“Splendid home cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Welcoming service from cheerful youngsters; unpretentious but delicious home cooking. Despite a large menu, everything was carefully cooked and seasoned. A great cullen skink, and oysters, followed by excellent macaroni cheese, and a succulent venison stew with dumplings and mashed potato. We drank the locally brewed real ale, which was good.
