We have just got back from the Lodge. The location is lovely. The rooms are a little rustic but this adds to the charm. We booked full board package which we where told on our initial call included lunch did not. Saying that it is well worth getting out of the hotel to explore the surroundings.

Our major problem was the service and the food. The initial booking took 3 phone calls to get them to confirm we had a booking.

Food wise the breakfast is very good but again the service is extremely poor. Having asked for 2 fried eggs we had to enquire 3 times before they where bought to our table.

The dinner was the biggest let down. The portions are extremely poor and badly cooked. We where told dinner was included but you have to order extra sides dishes like fries as the portions are extremely small. These are charged as extra to your bill. The service in the restaurant again is extremely poor. On both nights we ate there we had to order drink via 3 waiters before the order arrived. Ordered dessert of chocolate ice cream, and vanilla arrived. Again find this hard to believe when the ordering is done via a PDA at the table. The staff never apologised for their mistakes and made you feel that you where at fault. Please keep in mind you are paying over 200 pounds a night so expect some sort of service.

Again, hotel setting is lovely, but rather goes out to eat!!! Would go back to the area but never the lodge. There are a large number of other hotels we would rather try.

We stopped here on our journey back from a honeymoon touring around Scotland. We stayed in one of the Graham rooms. Of all the places we stayed during our honeymoon I have to say this was the most dissapointing room. To put it bluntly the decor in our room was naff and there was black mould around the bath. However the room was very quiet and we had fantastic views of the loch.

The staff were very friendly. When we saw the price of the resturant we were glad we had paid for DB&B. Eventhough it was by far the most expensive (& poshest!) meal of the holiday it wasn't the best. Breakfast was excellent.

While the Lodge may err a wee bit on rusticity, the staff are exceptionally good, the views amazing, the attention to detail terrific, and the Lodge has a really helpful 'can do' attitude which is a balm to the spirit. I would recommend the massages in the Lodge's spa highly, and I think there can be fewer more calming experiences than to wake up and look over the Loch as the birds fly around. The setting is spectacularly beautiful, and the management cannot be faulted. I stayed at the Lodge on business and it is truly one of the few times I would consider going back to a place for pleasure.

We stayed at The Lodge for a three night weekend break and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The location and setting of the hotel is wonderful, the food was fantastic and the hotel staff were friendly but discreet.

I would recommend the place to anybody wanting to enjoy a peaceful break.
