“Wonderful overnight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Stayed here via groupon deal. Amazing overnight stay from start to finish, staying in room overlooking the loch with balcony and sauna in the room. Staff team were excellent and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. We dined in the restaurant and both of us had the set £25 meal and a nice bottle of Rioja, the food was wonderful and plenty and staff were very attentive without being obtrusive. We used all the facilities of the Spa and enjoyed walks by the loch. We will definitely be back. Thanks again.

Stayed here for first time in December. Arrived early but room was ready. Staff were excellent - very friendly and welcoming at all times. Stayed in Colquhoun suite and was right next to the excellent spa so very handy. Had a drink in the bar - nice enough - bit boring for us though so we did not eat there however some will love the restaurant and bar. Room set up was a bit weird - toilet is separate but shower and washbasin are in an open plan bedroom? Balcony brilliant with loch views. All in all excellent stay and I would highly recommend. There is very little in the "town" but I suppose that might be an added attraction. We actually really enjoyed it and will be back.

Room Tip: Leave your beer on the balcony in winter - lovely and cold!

The restaurant has a fabulous view of Loch Lomond, but unfortunately the food was not as good as I had hoped. There were 4 of us for lunch and 2 of us had soup which was luke warm and had to be sent back. For the main course, the vegetarian option was so tiny it was like a starter and the vegetables on the side were so over cooked to the point of being mushy. The Cheesecake was quite tasteless, and we had to ask for the coffee after waiting about 15 minutes. There only a few other diners at that time so the staff were not rushed of their feet. I doubt if we will ever eat there again.

We stayed for my birthday, just one night.
The welcome was great, accommodation and the view sensational. The blonde haired male manager was incredible, really made us feel welcome.
The only thing that disappointed a little was the inattentive wait staff... One breakfast waitress greeted us obviously chewing gum!!
Other than that, flawless.

I booked this hotel as part of a Groupon deal I had purchased for a getaway before my partner and I sit our university exams and I cannot think of anything better I could have spent my money on. We booked to stay in the Munro rooms which is in the same building as the spa and swimming etc. The drive up to the lodge was absolutely gorgeous and once we arrived at the hotel we were politely booked into our room and also offered dinner.

The views at this location are unlike any I have ever seen before. We are both from Scotland and travel around, but these views were simply exquisite. Indeed, it had been snowing so the hills and surroundings were layered with snow, which did contribute to setting a lovely, romantic scene.

The rooms were perfect. Extremely clean, very modern and smart and the balcony was an excellent added touch. Mini bar in the room was handy to have and also not too expensive either. More than enough parking throughout and there was a large swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna etc which was completely empty so we had that to ourselves. All of these facilities were clean and open from 8am - 8pm.

Dinner in the restaurant was just beautiful. It was set on the verge of the beach where the loch can be seen. I must admit it did look very high class and maybe thought we were a little out of our depth as we have never been anywhere like it before, but we were made to feel so welcome, the staff were polite, attentative and friendly.

I have used Groupon vouchers before for other things and felt I have always received a lower level of service because I had bought the deal cheaper through a voucher but this was not the case at Lodge on Loch Lomond. We also received a free drink on arrival which was a nice gesture.

We cannot advise how much we loved our stay here and our only regret is that we had only booked for 1 night and not 2! Would highly recommend to others looking for a romantic, relaxing getaway with blissful and sensational views. I have just read some reviews that have said the setting and scenery is okay and I am completely shocked at this.

This location, lodge and scenery is a must see! We will be returning as soon as!

Room Tip: Choose to stay in the Munro, it is in the same building as the swimming and sauna etc.

The view we had from our room was probably the best I've ever had. It was beautiful looking over the Loch.

The service was great and everybody we dealt with was polite.

We had dinner which was very tasty and good value for money. The cocktails well also gorgeous.

A couple of wee things. The bed was just a double which is very small for a hotel. The sauna was tiny and not worth paying the extra money for the room. The other thing was the shower curtain was extremely mouldy.

The chef for the breakfast also used vinegar to make my poached egg. It tasted vile. There is no need to use vinegar to make a poached egg especially if a trained chef is doing it. And I know if I asked i could have had that fixed which would mean another wait and eating at a different time from my husband.

I wouldn't stay again unless there was a special offer on.

Just spent a night at The Lodge on the Loch. First thing you notice is the magnificent scenery, one of the best views in Scotland. We had a Corbett Room with sauna and Loch side view balcony. Room was superb. Huge bed, shower, bath and sauna, comfortable leather sofa, TV, free wi-fi and as i said before, an amazing view from our balcony over looking Loch Lomond.
We were there for an Xmas party night. Staff were extremely helpful, food was fantastic and had a superb nights entertainment.
Great breakfast in the morning served in the hotel restaraunt overlooking the Loch.
Will definately be back.
ps, didnt use the Spa so cant comment

Room Tip: Corbett rooms have private balcony overlooking Loch Lomond
