“Better than the pictures show!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

There are two self catering cottages to the rear of Jane's b &b, they are fitted out to the highest spec and are bright, clean and inviting. Luss is a beautiful place to stay and there are plenty of places you can reach for day trips from here. My only regret is that we didnt book this place for longer! Excellent value for money.

We stayed in Luss for just one night to break up the long drive home after 10 days touring the Highlands. Luss had been recommended to us as a lovely little village on the banks of Loch Lomond. We had little prior knowledge of Glenview, but were more than pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We were greeted by the owner, who was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The property is a large bungalow, with a spacious open kitchen/dinner and living room area, fully equipped with modern kitchen facilities. Every convenience and piece of kitchenware that you might need is on hand, even a posh looking coffee machine (I wasn't brave enough to try to figure it out!). The whole property is very clean and well-kept. The décor was quirky, imaginative and modern, if a little random! However, it was nice that the owner imprinted her character on the place, giving it charm and personality. The shower was stunning! A full wet room with beautiful tiles, giving a luxurious spa-effect. There is a lovely swing bench outside where you can sit and enjoy the garden. The couches in the living room area were so comfortable you could drift off to sleep on them if you weren't careful. The double room is spacious, but the twin room is a little cramped. This didn't really bother us though, because we only went in there to sleep, sitting up until late in the comfortable living room with drinks, snacks and few card games. There are two pub/restaurants just a short walk away from the property (the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel is by far the better of the two), so you could stay in and cook or go out for food and drinks with just a short stumble to your comfy bed. Highly recommended if you're in this area.

Five of us had an overnight stay at Glenview, having attended a wedding reception across the road in the Lomond Arms Hotel. Glenview only has 2 rooms - my parents were in one room with a 4-poster bed, and we were in the other room which had a small conservatory attached and included another bed for our daughter. Everything was very well appointed, and a nice touch was the small drams of whisky available in the rooms. Beds were comfy, although the duvets were a bit heavy and warm for my liking. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before, and come the morning we were greeted with the usual cereals, but also additional bowls of fresh fruit (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, grapes) and yoghurt. I had the full Scottish breakfast which included black pudding, haggis and potato scone, whilst the others had smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and pancakes - a huge plateful. All excellent. Pity we couldn't have stayed longer.

Room Tip: A hidden gem in a lovely village.

My wife and I stayed at Glenview on May 19 for an evening. We were sad to leave because this is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. Jane was extremely nice and helpful and we provided a well kept, clean, and spacious bedroom. The bed was comfy and the attached small sun room with the couch was perfect to place our bags and sit down to relax after the drive.
We very much enjoyed the breakfast and the food tasted great. Why bother with the hotel when Jane takes such good care of her guests. We highly recommend this place to anyone who will be in the vicinity.
Thanks so Much Jane
Dan

We had the very good fortune to stay at Jane's excellent accommodation, both on the way up to Skye and on our way back. On our northbound journey, we occupied one of the en-suite rooms in the B&B part of the property - superbly and tastefully appointed; marvellously delicious breakfast. On our return, the B&B was full so Jane placed us in one of her self-catering cottages. What can I say? WOW! Once again we experienced Jane's impeccable style when it comes to decor, in a cottage which comes fully-equipped with everything you would need for a self-catering stay - and we were only staying for one night! The continental breakfast supplied was most definitely the best and the biggest we have had the good fortune to experience. Jane's hospitality and friendliness strikes just the right balance and she is an absolute joy.

What luck I had to literally stumble into Luss and then into Glenview! After a long wonderful day of travel and sightseeing I had the most delightful ending to my day when Jane opened her door to me. I could not help but smile as I entered the door and into the most well appointed and romantic room of my entire vacation! It was so amazing that I returned the next night knowing I would sleep well and with complete comfort. Jane is delightful and the perfect hostess, breakfast was just right, and I shall return. Many thanks!

I stayed with Jane in one of the rooms in the Glenvue cottage from May 22-24, 2013. Jane was kind enough to arrange for an airport pickup from Glasgow International straight to Luss in the early evening, which had me in the village and avoided me spending a night in a dingy airport hotel for a night. Great start. Then her breakfasts are amazing - four options, including the biggest Scottish breakfast you'll ever eat - all lovingly prepared at the time you desire. The breakfasts are each generous and she is eager to help you find your way about Luss and enjoy your stay. Great stuff. Her recent award speaks volumes about the quality of her accommodation and her friendly service. Not a single thing that i can say against her - great place!

Room Tip: oops. there's no swimming pool. The rooms in the house aren't noisy, even though they'...
