“Perfect for a short break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2012

Just back from an overnight stay, and it was perfect. We stayed in a twin room on the first floor, it didn't have a lochview but that didn't matter as we only used the room to sleep in. The room was a good size and both beds were really comfortable. The ensuite shower room was a bright and airy and clean, with shampoo and soap provided.

We had dinner with family and friends, and the food was out of this world, freshly cooked and large portions. The restaurant has fantastic views of the loch and we were lucky to get a table by the window.

After a great nights sleep, we enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast, and toast and cereal. The staff/owners are friendly and efficient. We are looking forward to our return trip already.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 have loch views but come at an extra cost

I visited this place for the first time on Saturday. It is a very small restaurant which looks onto the water, we didn't stay here we just had a meal. the starters was lovely, a few of us had the Stornoway black pudding with goats cheese and my dad had a tandoori chicken salad which was cold and the chicken was like pre packeted stuff you would get in Tesco. I had a pizza for my main which was very very bland, the others weren't much better and for the prices you would expect much more for your money, however the ice cream was amazing and my boyfriend got their banoffee pie which was lovely. I would say the bar food at the Drimsynie hotel is better.

I have eaten at The shore House Inn on numerous occassions possibly because it hasn't much in the name of competition in Lochgoilhead, but I alway's go back as the meals are good, service is also good but the dining room has one of the most wonderful views in the world looking out over the loch with the Mountains surrounding it absolutely stunning. I will certainly be back and look forward to my next visit.

I didn't stay here, but we had a meal here last week.

The menu was very good, plenty of choice with something for everyone. The ingredients were quality, nicely prepared and well presented with generous portions. Staff were warm & welcoming and... the view.... stunning. I also have to say it represented very good value for money.

I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again or recommend it to anyone visiting Lochgoilhead.

We were looking for a truly relaxing weekend in a beautiful location and The Shore House Inn surpassed all expectation, with beautiful views over the loch, well decorated, clean and a very comfortable room. Gillian and Mark were very welcoming and fantastic hosts. The food both at lunch and dinner was a true delight. We will be visiting again and would recommend anyone to visit, pure bliss.

The Shore House Meal was very tasty and made with all fresh ingredients. For starters we recomened the garlic pizza bread.Main Course choice is limited, however the quality more than makes up for the limited choice. The pizza's are made in an open fire wood oven. They are made fresh to order with any topping of your choice. The deserts are exeptionallygood(especially the hot chocolate pudding) as is the fresh ground coffee made in the Gaggia coffee machine. There is also a wide range of traditional ice creams on display. We were made feel most welcome by both the owners Mark and Gillian also Gloria the waitress, who gave us lost of interesting local knowlege as did Jim the chef! Very Impressed! The resturant was very child friendly and half portions were available from the complete menu ( no chicken nuggets here!)
A fine selection of hand pumped ale is available, also fine selection of wines to choose from,
To summarise a lovely family traditional inn, reasonably priced.
