“Great family venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

First time staying there with the family, very impressed. Riverside caravan, of a very high standard, very clean modern and comfy. Only improvement would have been a chopping board as part of the supplied utensils, apart from that great. Kids facilities, entertainment and pool great, and was also impressed by service and friendliness of staff. No long waits at the bar, even on Saturday night. Food was also decent and good value. Would recommend extending the wifi hotspot from just the coffee shop area to the main restaurant and fireside bar area, this would be the only constructive suggestion for main area. Kids loved it and we'll be back

Hi Matt, thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed your stay, we pride ourselves in customer service so are delighted that you acknowledged this. We will look into the chopping board idea, and free WiFi is being introduced throughout the park very soon as well. Thanks again, and we hope to see you again soon!

We have a caravan nearby to which we go most weekends and we've been going to Drimsynie for several years now to eat drink and see the entertainment. The food is becoming a hit or miss, sometimes it's great with great service and other times it like they put the reserve team in charge. Biggest thing putting us off now though is that the entertainment is getting worse than ever. This year started ok with but then we were subjected to a Michael bube tribute who was really rotten. No wonder the new host was hiding. If he's the person booking the acts he should be sacked. Worst ever was the mother and daughter duo which was here on Saturday night. We've never seen anything so bad. A washed up old singer desperatly trying to hold on to her fading career by roping in her slightly talented daughter who has a ok voice but all the star quality of a freshly filleted haddock. Outfits by Dorothy Perkins and Primark, harmonies by the YouTube goat and a performance that looked like they rehearsed it in the car on the way here. If this is how it's going to be in future then I think we'll be staying in with a carry out and a DVD in future.

Hi Phil, thanks for your review. Sorry that you felt that the food and entertainment wasn't upto scratch. We are currently renovating our kitchens, have just introduced a new restaurant upstairs and revamped our existing menus. We are confident this will keep the food at a high standard every time you visit. Regarding the entertainment, we are currently looking into booking new acts to perform, though the Michael Buble tribute you mentioned recieved great reviews from many of our guests. Thanks again for your comments though and we hope you do visit again!

Hi, after reading previous comments felt I had to write about our weekend! 12 of our party split into Lapwing 3 and 4. Stunning lodges, overlooking stream! Very welcoming, heating and lights on for our arrival, nice touch! Everyone very pleased with rooms, tv's and en-suite were added bonus! The Friday night we decided to stay in one of the lodges, with drinks and a takeaway from the hotel, food was fab! Only downside was a visit from security regarding noise complaint, it wasn't actually us, but a party further up in a caravan! We had Rover Passes, excellent value for money :) Saturday night we all went over to Hotel for dinner, food was ok, but steaks were twice sent out raw! It all got sorted though, however food could be better :( all in all we had a fantastic time, and will return to Drynsinnie! You can't please everyone and some folk will always complain as we all know, but we have raved about you all since we got home - Bathgate Centre Reunion Group

Hi there, thanks for taking time to give us feedback. Delighted that you liked the accommodation! Sorry to hear about your problems in the restaurant but glad that they got sorted for you. We are currently renovating our kitchens as well as opening our brand new 'Bistro' restaurant upstairs, so you can expect a higher standard of food on future visits. Hope to see you again soon, thanks!

Just returned from a weeks holiday staying in one of the Riverside caravans, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The caravan was stunning, spotlessly clean, and so warm and cosy with central heating and gas fire, we had a little stream running alongside the van which was nice. The hotel and facilities were excellent, we used the gym twice which was fully equipped with everything you could need, The swimming pool and sauna and steam room and jacuzzi looked great. All staff including reception staff and bar and restaurant staff were lovely and friendly and well mannered. Food in the hotel itself was good and great value as well they do two courses for £9.95.Lochgoilhead is a stunning location which is reached by a 6 mile single track road at the top of the rest and be thankful, from here on the scenery is just spectacular being surrounded by the Arrochar alps which had snow on them when we were there. We were climbing and walking every day and there are walks and hills for all levels of fitness. Lochgoilhead village is a 10 minute stroll from the Park but take a torch for nightime visits, although its an easy walk it is very dark. You have the shorehouse inn and the lochgoilhead hotel for a choice of places to eat, The Shorehouse inn meal was delicious with beautiful views across the loch. Stock up your car with food and drink before you go if you are self catering, it saved us a lot of hassle, we planned our meals in advance so we knew exactly what to take, Although there is a well stocked Costcutter on the site, you would not be able to get everything you need, and its a bit more expensive. We had fantastic weather when we were there, so very lucky. All in all I cannot recommend this place and location enough, I fail to see how anybody could be dissapointed with a stay here, we loved our caravan and will be returning for sure, Thanks Drimsynie!!!

Hi Mags, thanks for your feedback. Delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Drimsynie! We ensure that all rental caravans are no more than three years old so that our guests have the best possible experience of their stay. We're currently looking into lighting on the path to Lochgoilhead as a result of customer feedback and hope to make improvements soon. Thanks for your comments and we hope to see you again soon!

Have been staying in the lodges for about 20 years, have went every September weekend since I was born and plan on continuing this tradition. The food is a good enough reason to go! Always night time entertainment available. Lodges always clean and staff are always nice. Cheap depending on what time of year you go. Recommend to go! Cant wait to go every year!

We first stayed here 15years ago and have been back 9or 10 times since,we've always found the lodges very clean,we've stayed in the osprey, eagle lodges, bungalow with hot tub and court accommodation ,the bungalow with hot tub was fantastic ,one night it was snowing and we were in the tub grand kids an all it was a fantastic moment we shall never forget, our favourite lodge is osprey3 in our opinion it has the best of views and for us in just the right spot, the lodges are very comfortable and have everything you could want in them, the castle on site has a fab pool ,ice skating rink, table tennis ,soft play area, bowls ,snooker, entertainment room, and adult only pub ,we have spent many a day and night in all,the food in here is also good ,(one sad point is that the fantastic Sunday buffet has stopped please bring them back )we've had roaming deer in our garden ,birds galore ,and even Aberdeen Angus .weve had proper family fun over the years in total safety inc British bulldog ,rounders, hide and seek, and a great footy match that ended up 23 all .they arrange treasure hunts, all sort of games for the kids and a varied nightly entertainment, there are walks for everyone and all fitnesses .the views are truly breathtaking and were always sorry to leave.in the local village (10 mins stroll) is 2 lovely hotels/pubs were you can have a fine meal (bit pricey)and fine choice beers.there is a cost cutters so you can stock up your lodge cheaply .there is plenty of great attractions fairly close by so there is plenty to fill your days,a bit further afield is loch lomand shores, glencoe (my wife's fav) and Ben Nevis cable cars great cafe, shops, walks etc at the top views aren't to bad either oh yes you can take dogs up there also,it's far to say we love Scotland and lochgoilhead is very much are favourite place to stay .ps there is also good fishing on site .there is always something different to see ,were looking forward to going back try it you'll love it

Room Tip: All lodges etc have there own BBQ
