“Rude staff member!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2014

Wouldn't go back or recommend this place. The only thing that was ok was the fish and chips. Chicken nuggets for my little one were as hard as stone! Couldnt eat any. Burger with "cheese" (horrible scraped on spread), according to family members was horrible! But the worst part of this place is the waitress we had. Rude! Didn't smile! Wasn't helpful! Moody! Etc...went to a lovely pub around the corner, that was perfect and the staff were friendly. Wouldn't go back to this place again!

“Great food and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2014

Visited this restaurant on Friday night and was really surprised at not only how friendly the staff were but also Myra the owner. She recommended the fish and this was not a mistake. It was as if they had just caught it from their section of the river on the doorstep. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. For me seeing into the kitchen was very important as it hid nothing but cleanliness, another factor why I would and will return here. It is situated on the river Dochart not far from the falls and Myra took us around her garden and showed us where they have barbeques in the summer. Well worth the visit.

“OH SO FRIENDLY”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2014

Unfortunately only stayed one night, there for work. From the first moment we stepped inside such a warm Scottish Welcome and that was lunchtime. Lots in there eating and lovely log fire.
Everything was spotless as was the room. Bed was excellent as was the shower which nearly blasts you away, such a change from ones that dribble!!!!!!!!!!!
In the evening we were greeted very warmly by all as well as the Staff. The food for our part was excellent and we had Haggis to start & Roast Lamb for Main too full for desert!!!!!!!! Another couple were a bit disappointed with the Lamb (a bit tough) maybe they were unlucky both ours were plentiful and tender. Service was spot on all by one Lady who apologised if it was slow but everybody had ordered at same time. Anyway, we had no complaints at all.
Rooms I prefer not to comment on as it depends on what you want, the rooms spotless and comfort 10 out of 10. I suggest if you want to stay there view the rooms first to ensure the access suits your needs. But if you go to Killin you must eat there at least.

“yummy food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2014

We ate at The Capercaillie for 2 consecutive nights as the food was so good. I experienced the best breaded fish I'd ever had and my husband said his steak was the best he'd tasted outside of the USA. Quite a wee cosy eating area with log fire and a small bar area. Friendly run place and affordable too.
