We were a party of four adults and this was the first night's stop on the WHW. The location of Green Shadows is some distance from the centre of Drymen but in the most beautiful setting and our room had elevated views over the golf course and the hills beyond. Gail was an excellent host, helpful and informative, which was crucial particularly in her advice about where to eat in on a Bank Holiday Saturday and how to secure a table! Our room was very well appointed with a a good shower and all spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent and Gail had made a special effort to provide mushrooms and baked beans (not normally part of a Scottish breakfast we understood) for two of our number in response to a request the evening before. Only one small suggestion would be the provision of fuller pillows, ours were a little thin.
We would certainly recommend Green Shadows for a WHW stopover or a longer stay; it was the best we stayed at until we reached Fort William.
