Stayed for four nights as part of a coach tour.and though we enjoyed our stay more nights would have been a bit of a toil. The room was a little dusty in parts and the furniture a bit tired. The bed was hard and sleep was elusive until a comfortable position was found. It was quiet however. The breakfast was doled out from the front of the restaurant - one egg, two slices of bacon, a sausage, a slice of black pudding and the beans were counted (or so it seemed), BUT it was good. Evening meals were multichoice and of reasonable quality. Afterwards there was entertainment, which entertained us. the bar was shared with locals and was homely and aimiable - but if you don't like football there is another lounge offering escape from two screens showing non stop soccer. The staff were helpful and friendly but not over attentive. Lovely old building with a maze of corridors to find your way around. Given it's charm we would not be lothe to return if needs must.
