“Busy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

A very busy hotel with excellant entertainment and tasty food. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a bit noisy over the weekend. The room we had was very small but the bathroom was much more roomy. We were in the old part of the hotel but there are bigger rooms in the new extension.

Room Tip: Ask for a good sized room in the new part of the hotel.

We enjoyed a short break in this lovely hotel. I was very impressed with the quality of the food and the wide range of choices available.
Accommodation was clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I would certainly return for another stay

Not long home from the best night in ages, arrived to find a lovely cosy hotel with fireplaces lit, lovely wooden exposed beams and warm welcoming staff in the resturant, bar and reception. Our room (no.70) was lovely. Comfy double, large TV, lovely bath with tv at the bottom!! large room with balcony and patio set. Hotel had on murder mystery weekend and it was amazing, was my first one but cant wait for the next one! was so funny everyone had a great time. The bar is cosy, clean and welcoming and the karaoke great fun! The 3 coarse meal was delicious and breakfast amazing. Will be staying at this hotel again, lovely wee village with everything you need. Thank you to all the staff and entertainers for a wonderfull night.

We only stayed one night, but the check in should have signalled the stay - Expedia had forgotten to send the booking through! Lady on reception was lovely and very helpful.

Room was horrible, 2 beds badly thrown together and very uncomfortable, breakfast was inedible and restaurant staff not very helpful and do not listen to staff.

Fire doors were propped open with fire extinguishers and this was ignored by the staff. It created a very long corridor and led onto the fire stairs which is highly dangerous.

The cleaner also just walked into the room without knocking.

Shame as it was supposed to be the treat of our holiday!

Room Tip: Don't book here.

The room we had was beautiful and certainly a top end 3 star room and of a good size. The staff we found to be friendly and helpful, particularly the receptionist who went out of her way to book us a taxi. Breakfast was good and thank goodness not another self service ordeal, so food was freshly cooked, hot and served to the table. Would not hesitiate to recommend the Winnock if you are looking for a break in a wonderful part of Scotland, in a characterful Scottish inn styled hotel
