“Dissapointed - Nice place shame about the grub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

4 of us visited this restaurant on a friends recomendation. We went in for lunch and left severely disappointed. Lovely setting, tables well set, clean, friendly, waitress staff lovely - there the positives end. The food was awful - we started with a pate terrine that although pleasant tasting was not set and more like a mousse like texture. For main course 2 of us had breaded haddock and chips which appeared to my untrained eye to either have come straight from the microwave or frozen out of the box and oven cooked - This was work canteen quality - no worse I'm afraid. My son had the ham roast dinner, which was over salty and the tatties were like rocks. We didnt stay for dessert and left promptly. Lovely setting, nice people, terrible grub!

“Amazing views and very good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We decided to try the Kilted Skirlie having seen it during previous visits to Balloch
We went for lunch - we were given a table at the window with the most amazing views
The service was very good, especially from the manager, the food was delicious and the portions were huge!
I'm sure we will be back

“Food still good, but a bit disappointing overall”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

This is a favoutrite place to go, but today, the service was very slow, and there was a mistake in our bill (Not in our favour) and although the meal was good when it finally came, we were disappointed that it took well over an hour to get it, including reminders to staff. (half an hour between starter and main) Hopefully things improve, as the food is excellent.

“Lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

We visited on a very quiet rainy day. We only ordered a coffee but it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and the decor was impressive! Would certainly go back
