Just spent an evening at the Hotel. From the outside we didn't expect much but were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are of a very high standard, very large, modern, fabulous shower. The parking is across the road which is no problem. We ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel and both were very good.
We didn't experince any noise from the pub below.

The location is ideal for the boat trips on the Loch and for a walk to Balloch Castle.

We had dinner at the Tullie Inn, again very good food.

we called at the waterhouse on spec as we did not have a room booked for that night. On calling at reception the staff were very helpful and friendly. they recommended an excellent italian seconds down the road(which was very good food and friendly staff with our 5 and 3 year old). car parking is across the road but it is free!! our car came to no harm. Breakfast is served continental style with plenty for all tastes, cereal, croissants, yoghurts and fruit juice. all in all a lovely hotel in a lovely area.

Stayed for one night. When booking was told that there was only one room left at 75 pounds, however we were the only guests. The restaurant within the hotel was closed, again something that we hadn't been told. There was no phone in the room, despite the description on the webpage stating that there were all the conveniences you would expect. Equally I thought 2 tea bags and 2 sachets of coffee (especially without use of their catering facilities) was overly stingy! The room was on the road and just off from the loch. The only plus was the bed was comfortable and the place was easy to find but then equally with only one key for the group it meant unloading stuff from the car using a mobile for communication or plunging one person into darkness at the key also controlled all the lights. Ok, but not good value for money and would stay elsewhere when in the area again

Stayed for one night when travelling to Fort William. The rooms are situated above the pub and were very modern, spacious and clean with plenty of wardrobe space and security safe. Modern bathroom with large shower (no bath). Noise from pub did not permeate upstairs to the bedrooms. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.

Balloch has a lot to offer with boat trips available to view Loch Lomond, several eating places and other public houses. Will return again for a long weekend.

We have just returned from two nights at the Waterhouse Inn, Balloch. The 'hotel' is not a hotel in the true sense of the word. It is an inn with rooms above, in a row of shops between a sandwich take away and a Chinese take away on a main road through the centre of Balloch. It has no car park, cars have to be parked in the municipal car park across the road (the car park forms part of the access to Balloch Castle Country Park and has a recreation ground adjacent). Having said that our car didn't come to any harm.

The rooms are quite spacious, well furnished and clean. Bathroom was small but with a large shower cubicle (no bath). Breakfast is served between 9 and 10, food was nicely served and was hot and tasty though you have the choice of cereal and toast or cooked, there was no opportunity to have juice, cereal, cooked and toast like you would expect in a hotel. We were in room 4 and were disturbed till into the early hours with noisy pipes and tanks filling so if we stayed again would opt for a different room. There was no noise from the bar down below.

It does not serve meals after 4pm though they did suggest various places to eat (we ate in the Italian restaurant [which does an early evening menu at a reduced price if you want it] and at the Hungry Monk in Gartochan (would recommend).

We paid £60 per night which is not expensive and I think I would stay again if I was in the area for one night, for any longer I think there are nicer and more scenic places to stay for much the same price or very little more.
