“A must see! excellent, family friendly attraction in a gorgeous country setting”
I came here with my 2 sons (aged 1.5yrs and 2.5yrs).
Firstly, and most importantly the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Stewart was very good at answering questions about the birds and sharing anecdotes , this made the trip much more interesting than reading the descriptions alone. The staffs passion for the birds they look after was obvious and endearing and they were keen to share this with the visitors. It is an inspiration to find people that clearly love their jobs this much and care enough to want to do them well.
There was a huge selection of owls (all the native varieties and some very interesting looking Asian ones) and lots of eagles, a kestrel , hawks etc... And you get close enough to get a really good look. My sons had a blast and my eldest is still talking about the owl that flew over to see him and the giant golden eagle that sat on mummy's arm.
My youngest son was in a buggy the centre was very accessible and he still had a great view of all of the birds. I sometimes find with some attractions that children have to be lifted up to see everything - not the case here, a real back saver for mummies and daddies!
There is a garden centre attached with an outdoor play area and an award winning coffee shop along with lots of plants , toys and other nic - nacs on sale - good for a wee browse around and the food smelt great.
At £4.50 for an adult and free entry to under 5s , I would highly recommend this attraction - thoroughly enjoyed it :)
