“Lovely cruise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Had a cruise with two adults, a teen and one 7 year old. The ship was nice and had indoor, outdoor covered and uncovered. It was a bit of a rainy day so we started indoors. Was able to get a nice cuppa and some short bread. The little one got a bit bored after half an hour but that's just the way of it. There was some good local information given via the narrator. On the way back we sat upstairs. Good views from the front of the boat. The only recommendation would have been that the seating at the back, under the covers, are facing in ward and not towards the water. We sat there initially but didn't want to crane around for an hour or face the passengers opposite us.

“Nice little Boat Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

We took the 1 hour boat trip on the loch, the crew are very friendly and there are plenty of photo opportunities along the way.
There are drinks available and a toilet onboard. All round a nice little trip for £19 for two adults.

“Nice boat ride on Loch Lomond”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

The Sweeney's Cruises boat ride on Loch Lomond was a nice one. The two hour cruise was great. The only real downside was that the boat was running about 45 minutes late.

“An average boat cruise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

If you have been to Swiss lakes, this one is not really impressive. We came there from Edinburgh especially for the boat trip, because all guides say that Lomond is the most spectacular and picturesque lake in Scotland. Does not worth a special visit. The one-hour cruise is in fact 45-50 mins and you don't see much.

Hello and thank you for your your review. I'm sorry to hear that you were not as impressed with Loch Lomond as our visitors normally are. I can assure you, however, that there will be many people around the world who would argue with your opinion- Loch Lomond is not famous for nothing. I can only assume that you visited on the wrong day- this month has been pretty dull in terms of weather and low clouds may have taken away from the normally spectacular scenery, which is a shame as August is usually one of the best times to visit.

I really must disagree with your view that there is not much to see. During the cruise the boat passes 4 historical buidings each with their own history and passes through the highland boundary fault line from the lowlands into the highlands as well as the largest inland island in the UK which is explained through the indepth cruise commentary along with details of the Loch's statistics, wildlife and rich history.

I can also assure you that we have never and will never do a 45 minute cruise. There are many variants to each cruise- weather, passenger numbers etc therefore it is extremely difficult to keep to an exact time- some cruises may be 55 minutes, some may be 1 hour and 5 minutes- it is noted on all of our timetables that times are approximate and we endeavour at all times to provide value for money- on busy days the boat may run slightly behind schedule in order to do this.

Again, thank you for your review. I do hope that you get the chance to revisit Loch Lomond and maybe see what all the fuss is about.

“Average boat trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Had the 2 hour trip on Loch Lomond from Balloch. The trip itself was OK but the comments could almost not be understood in the lower cabin. Therefore it is a little bit "overpriced"

Hello, thank you for your feedback which we very much appreciate. There have been a number of comments regarding the commentary on the Silver Marlin which does the two hour Island Discovery Cruise. As a result we have taken steps to improve the audio on th lower deck. Please accept our apologies for this.
