“Wonderful, tranquil B&B”

Burnbrae Bed and Breakfast

Jan 22, 2008

From the moment we arrived at the Burnbrae, we knew that we had struck lucky.

The warm welcome we received, the lulling sound of the babbling stream next to the property, the view of the loch and the Arrochar Alps from our bedroom window and the exceptional quality of our bedroom were early indicators that we were set for an extremely comfortable stay.

Our en-suite bedroom was so lovely - everything was very clean, the bed was wonderful, a lovely settee by the window to gaze out of the window encouraged you to relax. Numerous leaflets on what to do in the area, a hospitality tray with everything you need (including 2 lovely Charles Macintosh China Mugs) and a decanter of Sherry and chocolates provided on a little table by the settee!

Breakfast was a feast - be warned, unless you're starving, don't go for Porridge and a cooked breakfast! Nothing was too much trouble, the food really was of very high quality.

An added bonus to staying at the Burnbrae is that next door is the Village Inn, which is included in the '07 Real Ale Guide. It does serve the local brew - Fyne Ale (which is highly recommended by the way!), but on the two evenings we were there, it had run out by 7.30pm! We didn't eat there, though many people were doing so.

All in all, an exceptional B&B, which is great to visit even during a wet and grey November!

We have just returned from a wonderful couple of nights in the Burnbrae. What a lovely time we had, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt as if his was a true home from home. The location is stunning, the facilities in the room are all you could want and more. We have already suggested to family & friends that they should stay here and we are already planning our next trip (when the weather is a little warmer).

“Great Breakfast and location”

Great B&B as one review said home away from home. You can tell that the owners are very proud of their business and those small details make every difference (there's about 7 choices of mustard for breakfast!). There's a cd player which you can play the relaxing 'sounds of scotland'.

We only stayed one night but would have been nice to stay for the weekend.

Another great point about this B&B is that not only does it look out to Lock Long but it has a nice pub right next door which serves nice pub food and a good choice of beer.

“Best breakfasts of our trip”

From the minute I picked up the phone to make the booking, I felt good about this place. Burnbrae well deserves its excellent reputation on the basis of the warm welcome from Janice and Gordon and all the little touches they put into making this place feel like a real home from home.

Every little thing is thought about from spare toothpaste and toothbrushes in the bathroom to sweeties, sherry and an umbrella in the spotless and spacious guestrooms.

We'd heard glowing reviews of Janice's breakfast from other trip advisor reviews and weren't disappointed. In fact we voted our two meals there best breakfasts of the trip.

Arrochar is a lovely spot, with views over the loch and a chance to spot wildlife including deer in the local area. We only stayed two nights and could have stayed much longer.

So thanks. I'm sure we'll be back.
