“fantastic place to eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014 via mobile

Whilst staying at the log cabins on the other side of the loch we decided to venture to the village inn for dinner. It wasn't the easiest place to find , but oh yes I was glad we found it. It was very clean, cosy and fresh inside and the service was very good.
The biggest attraction was the menu, both myself and partners are chefs and we were impressed by the choice and quality of food on the menu. The curried potato soup was a winner, I did ask the waitress if my pallet was right in detecting coconut milk, lemon grass and a hint of green thai paste in the soup, but unfortunately she never got back to me on that one ?. My partner had the wild boar pate which was a first for her , but she loved it. The mains were also vast and tasty and there were no complaints at all with the food. Compliments to the chef, he obviously knows his way around a kitchen, and impressed a usually hard to impress couple when it comes to food. I would have given 4stars, but for the lovely menu and chefs lovely food, its a 5. If u visit Arrochar , drive through, whatever u do, give the village in a visit.

“Wish I'd come here before.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

As the Inn is just a short distance from the B&B I'm staying in, I thought I'd give it
ago. I was to late for hot food(after 8pm), so iI had a cold sandwich with chips. The sandwich was huge and we'll filled the chips chunky and still with skin, just as I like them. It was delicious. Service was very good. As it was a rainy cold night the roaring log fire in the bar was very welcome. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back.

“Beautiful views and cosy atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

Lovely food in a truely lovely place... Visited here for lunch and can't really fault it. /the only thing I would say is it's a little pricy. Had a meal for two with a couple of drinks and it came to approx £40. Only other thing is I would of like to of seen more options for vegetarians but apart from this the place is great.

Sat by a roaring fire looking over Loch Long; what more could you ask for. Ended up sitting there for a couple of hours enjoying the surroundings and the log fire.

Staff were also extremely accommodating and we had a little chat to one of the waitresses who was so friendly.

Definitely worth a visit if you have the cash to spend.

“Good Value For Money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

Staying at the nearby log cabins and ate here twice. The second evening we were a bit late in arriving but nothing was too much trouble. It was even pointed out to us not to rush our meals because of the sign stating children had to leave by 10pm. Certainly seemed family friendly with a lovely friendly waitresss! Good honest food with something for everyone.

Diolch yn fawr!!

“Little Country Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014

Exploring the area we stumbled upon this amazing country inn. With roaring open fires, friendly and welcoming staff (nothing was too much trouble), proper ale and delicious food we could have happily stayed all afternoon - in fact we went back.
Ideal for those who just want to kick off your walking boots, relax and unwind.
