“Noise”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

The worst nights sleep me and my partner have ever had. The noise from below the room continued untill 2am then started again at 5am from above.

The reception on the (postage stamp sized) television was unbearable and there was no internet connection. The breakfast however was incredible. Although staying awake long enough to eat it after such a poor nights sleep was an art in itself.

I would not give this Inn a second visit.

This pub had a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the person serving us was both friendly and effieient.

There were some well-kept ales and the food, such as the steak and ale pie that I chose, and the various fish specials on the board, were substantial and tasty pub fare and just what was needed on a rather grey and unpleasant May evening.

Stayed here one night on business.

Rooms are fine very B&B comfy and clean so no complaints. Room was spacious yet noisy as I was just above the kitchen so could hear fans and noise all night.

Ate at the hotel bar where the food was nice and also had breakfast the following day. Good selection of papers and cooked or ceral options. Very friendly service from all the staff.

Fine for a short stay and very resonably priced. No faults and good staff - not celubrious.

Room Tip: Back has noise from fans and kitchen - front looks onto main road. If I stayed on a weeknight I w...

We were a group of 6 men staying in the area for 3 nights for fishing. We ate and drank there all 3 nights, the food and beer were excellent. The staff and locals were welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere was great, though there were some strange choices on the juke job. Everything a you could ask for in a pub.

We went along on a dreich Satruday afternoon (9 March 2013) whilst staying at the Galley of Lorne Inn at Ardfern. We had taken a touring drive down to Tarbert at Loch Fyne. After having a few stopping points and a walk up to the Tarbert Castle ruins, we struggled to find anywhere to eat. We therefore headed back to Lochgilphead to go to the Argyle Inn. The food was hot and cheap and cheerful pub grub. They did have a few specials on but I didn't fancy anything too big as we knew we would be dining later at the Galley of Lorne Inn. I opted for soup of the day with a sandwich (£5.40) which was basic. The unusual tasty hot soup was cream of onion with sweet chilli!! Was good but strange sensation on tastebuds! Husband opted for chicken curry with rice and naan bread + at £8.50 was brilliant value. We were served by Sarah, who did a brill job of keeping everyone in the place topped up with drinks, table and bar clear and all with a lovely smile!! Very nice all in all! Xx

We are staying near Lochgilphead and were looking for somewhere to have dinner. I'm glad we chose the Argyle inn as it was comfy and cosy, lovely food and great value for money. We shared some wedges to start followed by a venison and haggis burger for my husband and Cajun chicken and chips for me. The food was lovely although the cajun chick was a bit too spicey for me. We also had 2bottles if blue wkd and a pint of lager and it came to £30. The man behind the bar could not help enough,he even asked if we wanted a jug of hot water when he seen my daughters bottle of milk sitting in the table.

Well worth a visit for a homely atmosphere, great service and value for money.

Up here on business, the welcome very friendly, as one local said "the nice bar" shown to my room, basic but very clean, and at £40 B&B good value. Food good honest grub, presented well & home made. Try the fish cakes... Stunning flavour. Over all if you want a clean, nice, friendly place to stay or eat, this is it! Thankyou
