“Better than many 3 star hotels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2010

Great place to stay with clean, large bedrooms and bathrooms. Good attentive service from Jim and his wife. Excellent breakfast and very good value for money all round. Better than many 3 star hotels.

I would honestly say that this hotel was brilliant. The hosts Jim and Elle were so welcoming and kind. The hotel is spotless and the bedrooms were comfortable and relaxing. Jim and Elle welcomed everyone at breakfast rememering their names. Thankyou to both Jim and Elle for making my stay a very pleasant one. I will be visiting again!!!!

Great place to stay and rooms were really good for the price. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice - all freshly made too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would have no problem recommending to others. Will certainly stay again if in the area.

This hotel isn't run by the national hotel chain as the name might suggest. It is in fact a lovely 2nd generation family run hotel.

I stayed here for one night while in Lochgilphead for business. After a long drive from Edinburgh we were made to feel very welcome and were personally showed to our rooms by one of the owners.

I stayed in Room 4, a double room with ensuite bathroom (I am 99% sure all rooms are ensuite), The room was great and well equipped - my only complaint would be it was very cold as the heating operated on either 1 hour or 2 hour time limits, so in the middle of the night in February I was up and down to put it on so I didn't sleep overly well.

Breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and was fantastic.

If you are going to Lochgilphead for business then I would definately suggest this hotel - if you plan on going for a holiday then I would recommend staying outside Lochgilphead because there is not a lot there,

A converted old cinema in Lochgilphead provides good value B&B accomodation if you want or have to stay in the Lochgilphead area. Located near the centre of the town.

I had large nicely decorated twin en suite room for £35 B&B which was very good value. Nice bathroom. Nice breakfast. Friendly hosts. Car park.

Free wifi although the signal comes & goes. No mobile phone reception in the room so you have to walk around the town a bit to get a reception.

My only slight gripe is that the bed was not the most comfortable I have been in. I could feel the pattern of the springs in mattress - but I managed.

Not a lot to do in Lochgilphead at night in the winter - you have to look quite hard to find somewhere to eat within walking distance. I found a small Indian take away/restaurant which just about sufficed - I was the only sit in customer.
