“Time, tide & simple fresh food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

Menu is on the black board. when its done, it's done. Langoustine, fresh & pink. Scallops, Lobster, need some oysters to complete the picture. Great beef, superb all round service with a view that's been a part of so many s life's over many years. Stay with fresh, simple, local and you'll continue winning all the time. Thank you for great nights, accommodating all friends and family.

“Well worth the journey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

If you are visiting the Lochgilphead area and looking for a good seafood restaurant, I doubt that the Tayvallich Inn will disappoint. Picturesquely located on a sheltered inlet off Loch Sween, the Inn offers bar, restaurant and outdoor seating, all with great views of the waterfront. The menu, which is not extensive, is biased towards seafood, but there are other dishes on offer as well. Service was efficient and very pleasant, and the food was excellent. We both opted for one of the four scallops dishes on the main menu. Each was beautifully cooked and presented, and I would say that they were the best of several scallops dishes that we tasted in the area. Well-kept beer from the Loch Ness Brewery was available on tap - the madNess was particularly good. So, if you make the effort seek out the Tayvallich Inn, I'm sure you will find that your journey has been worthwhile.

“Great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

We were staying at Castle Sween and drove round to Tayvallich for lunch. Had to have a seat at the bar for 10-15 minutes until a table became available but we weren't in any rush. The staff were pleasant, service was very efficient and the food was great. The Inn specialises in seafood but there plenty of alternatives available. Recommended.

“Wonderful place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

This is a truly hidden gem, way off the beaten track and if you don't know about it you are unlikely to go there, one road in and the same road out. A stunning view across the loch with many small boat in the harbour, we were fortunate to visit on a sunny evening and enjoyed the sunset as well. Wonderful fish and chips, but lots more on the menu which was mainly fish courses butall seemed to be very enjoyable and cooked to perfection.
Well worth the trip there but you need to book in advance to ensure a table.
