“Lodges were amazing highly recommend..... hotel restaurant a different story!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

We were lucky enough to book one of the lodges for a single night for an overnight stop with some visiting friends. Was amazing - and exceeded our expectation. View...... splendid! Absolutely breathtaking. The midges weren't that bad either - with a light spray of deet over oneself - you could sit out with a drink as well - saw a sea otter. The restaurant was a let down however. Like other reviews the food - which was really nice - was BADLY let down by the incompetent staff, but thats another review!!!

Room Tip: The lodges were lovely!

Just back from a fantastic 2 day stay at the hotel with another family. 2 excellent rooms, side by side overlooking the water! The kids had a ball playing on the rocks etc and enjoying the outdoor life (they even ditched their Ipads for a while!) and the food was very good. Rooms were spotless and well appointed and in general nothing was too much trouble for the young staff.

We will definitely be back and hopefully next time it will be warm enough to sit out of the deck and enjoy the sunset. (note to self-bring a midgie candle though!!!)

Just got back from a 3 night stay bought for me as a birthday present by our children. What a fantastic place....the super large clean bedroom is beautifully appointed. Originally the Kentallen Pier Train station which has been incorporated into the whole building in a sympathetic way, the bar, dining room and all bedrooms overlook the Loch. The young staff seem to take a real pleasure in their work and the food is exceptional value. I've never had such a seafood choice, super cooking, beautifully presented....all whilst taking in the view!! Unsurprisingly the restaurant is busy and attracts lots of local trade as well as hotel guests...... pity you cannot book a window seat when making your reservation. One small point, it would help people of my age if there was a wall mounted grab handle to help in/out of the bath/shower. No doubt we will be back despite the long journey from Yorkshire....this place ticks all the boxes

My friend & I stayed at this hotel, on the shores of Loch Fyne, with our two partners, after completing our West Highland Way Walk recently.
The hotel is a converted railway station and has a superb location. The restaurant overlooks the loch and was a great setting for a great dinner.
Although it has a 3 star rating I think it merits a 3 star + or even a 4 star rating.

At Kentallen Pier, the hotel is a little out of the way, but the reward is the stunning view of the loch from all rooms (with balconies). The room was large, airy, clean with a very comfortable king bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the dining room, with an emphasis on fish but good selection of meat dishes, was excellent and wine by the glass very reasonably priced. We did not use the pool but it looked great, especially if you were traveling with kids. We would most definitely return.

Top service, lovely food, nice pool, great view and fab weather (don't think the last point is always consistent)
Spent a night there while in the area, a bit off the main drag so not for party animals definitely going to go back

Room Tip: Most rooms seem to have a balcony which would be nice if the weather is good
