Booked 2 rooms in the hotel for 2 nights on laterooms. On arrival I was given a twin room whan I booked a double, went to reception and waited 20 mins to be allocated a room which I booked, changed rooms to 26 a so called double but it was just 2 single beds pushed together with a double duvet on top which did not even cover the bed. 2 singles do not make a double! The bathroom was mouldy and the wall paper hanging off. The bath heavily stained, sockets hanging off the wall, no shower curtain so water just covered the bathroom floor, no shower mat, door didnt shut and lock broke, no hair dryer which they say they provide, marked walls, damaged old furniture, old lumpy hard pillows, creased dirty bedding, clothes left in the wardrobe, the wardrobe mirror had a huge crack running the width of the wardrobe, the room in its entirety was filthy I had to clean the bathroom before I could use it. The mirrors were covered in dust and grime could barley see in them, dirtty cups, Tv in room only had channels 1-5, so a very miserable room to be in. The corridors are old, tattered and dirty with vaccuum cleaners left lying around the corridors. called for room service one day and took 3 phone calls to get through, the menu available was different from the menu in the room. Ordered fish and chips which arrived quickly however, it arrived in a cardboard takeaway box with no condiments only salt and vinegar containers which were dirty, no serviettes or plates. The food came from the onsite chip shop and the food was awful. Chips hard in the middle and dark brown on the outside they had been cooked too quickly on a high heat, tasteless fish and watery tasteless mushy peas and loads of grease. I suspect fowl play with the reviews from the last couple of months as this really is a dirty, run down hotel that is overpriced with staff that have a lack of training. Do not book here, worth paying a little extra and staying closer to Aberdeen.
