“noisy room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Good luck booking at this place! I asked to change rooms because the one of the wall of my room was vibrating with noise from the oven. I was told it was not possible, even though there were 'superior' rooms available. I am not the most assertive person, so didn't argue, but with hindsight I should have insisted because I could not relax in that room and was glad to leave, but felt disatisfied with my stay there.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the room over the kitchen...

I booked a log cabin for 3 nights using a third party booking site. The place looked ideal as a base for some hillwalking. The next day I got a phone call at 8am (on a Saturday morning) the caller was abrupt and said "you booked a cabin for 3 nights, it needs to be a week" in the middle of my response which was going to be "are there any hotel rooms instead" he said "your booking has been cancelled, goodbye" then HUNG UP ON ME! I can't believe anyone runs a business like this!

We spent one saturday night in a one-bedroomed Cabin during snowy January and it was great. Really cosy cabin with everything needed for a comfortable stay, heating in all rooms so it didnt take long to heat up, we will definitely return for a long weekend soon. The cabin was very comfortable and cleaned to a very high standard, brilliant place!

Stayed in a log cabin wow!!
We had a wonderful week in Braemar and due to our experience it is now my favourite place in the world.
Wonderful accommodation so homely and comfortable.
The food at the hotel cannot be faulted so much choice.
We stayed many years ago when there was only one log cabin and were not disappointed. We always said we would return and we had an amazing time.

A group of us x10 have been visiting this bunkhouse annually for about 10 years now. Fantastic accommodation and the bunks are so so comfy. The dining area is fantastic - especially with the 'extension' at the rear. Ronnie & Fiona are so friendly and accommodating. I have nothing but praise for the whole set up. Great value for money.
We're visiting again in November and can't wait!
Tony - Glasgow.

Room Tip: If a group of good, sensible friends then the bunkhouse is ideal for basic but comfy accommodation...

Another wonderful 2 week holiday in one of the log cabins.
Excellent base for mountain biking and hiking in the Cairngorms.
Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend Braemar Lodge Hotel.

My sister and I booked this very last minute, like 6.00pm the night we wanted to stay. We had 2 single rooms as there were no twins available. Speaking for myself, the room was clean and comfortable. The shower adequate. My room was very warm too, as there was a hot pipe in the corner (?). I was warned it would get warm. This was ok as it did get chilly in the night. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. Spent quite a bit of time on our whiskey education. The restaurant was lovely and the food very good.
