“Excellent B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

Beautiful old Scottish house, just slightly on the edge of the village, so a little quieter. Very comfortable bed and lovely owners (Seem's all b&b's are owned by expat Londoners escaping the big horrible City life!), Braemer is in a stunning corner of the Cairngorms...

This was the best guest house we have stayed in for a long time. The room was clean and comfortable and Liz and Andy were very, very helpful hosts. The breakfast was excellent. Hope we will be guests of Callater Lodge soon again.

We stayed at Callater Lodge for a couple of nights in August. Liz and Andy were very friendly and welcoming - e.g. when we arrived 'have you eaten?' and volunteering dinner ideas. Andy was a great help about walking, loaning maps, suggesting routes and printing information for us. One room was gorgeous, the other rather small.

Room Tip: If possible ask for a room looking out of the front.

Very good room - spacious and well furnished. Good living room and use of large garden. Excellent breakfast, and good welcome from owners. Right across the road from restaurant with Grampian's prize-winning chef. What more can you ask of a B&B?

This was the best guest house we have stayed in for a long time. Liz and Andy were perfect hosts and had thought of everything. The room was brilliant with lots of little finishing touches which really gave that added extra. breakfast was also great. There was lots of information and books on the local area and a lovely garden guests could use. We were blessed with a heatwave while there so enjoyed the scenic walks around the town. We would also recommend the local golf club which was very friendly and also very scenic.

Room Tip: Room 1 at the front of the house was a lovely spacious room with a small sofa and large en suite bat...

My husband & I stayed 3 nights last week. We were really impressed by the standards of Callater Lodge. Found the room (6) to be very well decorated and spotless. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked. The owners, Liz & Andy were absolutely brilliant! Couldn't be more caring and helpful. We felt 'cared for' during our stay and really enjoyed conversations with them both. We ate at the Invercauld Hotel the first evening but wasn't overly impressed so took up the option for the remaining 2 nights to have snack meals at Callater Lodge. Homemade Soup was really tasty and sandwiches with side salad was lovely and more than adequate. My husband had a plate of chips both nights too. Prices for this was very reasonable and it was very comfortable sitting in the Guest Lounge. All in all we couldn't have had better service and if we went to Braemar again we would certainly stay at Callater Lodge.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 6 (Craigievar) which is situated at the side of the house. The size of the room...

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights.
when we arrived the owners gave us lots of useful information on the area such as places to eat, where to visit etc.
We had a spotless big room at the front of the house overlooking the road, ( hardly any traffic uses the road so it was nice and quiet)
The bed was so comfortable we had the best nights sleep ever.
The breakfasts were very good and set us up for most of the day.
In the evening we ate at Braemar Lodge which is directly opposite and The Moorfield restaurant which is a short walk away, and can reccommend them both.
