“Friendly welcome, comfortable stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

We stayed one night at this excellent guest house. We were warmly greeted and made welcome despite our late arrival after a long day on the hills. The bedroom was comfortable with all facilities and we enjoyed the well cooked full Scottish breakfast. Our hosts have a great knowledge of the area and mountains. It's a good choice for those wanting to savour the many Munros near Braemar.

After a long travel day Sarah greeted us as if we were family. My wife and Sarah hit it off immediately about Diana Gabaldon!
Our stay exceeded all expectations and the delicious breakfast held us as we toured Balmoral castle then drove a single track road on Sarah's recommendation. The scenery was spectacular. Thanks for everything Sarah. We would highly recommend this B & B. We wished we could have stayed longer but the world is big and Scotland awaits!

Made to feel immediately welcome by Sarah, what a lovely lady. The room was very comfortable & had everything needed, plus Sky tv & the view was great.
We wished we had more time at this wonderful B&B -food was delicious & plenty of it.
A great area & we shall certainly return to Cranford.

Wonderful first visit to Braemar and pleased we chose the right place to stay. Sarah very welcoming and happy to chat/listen.Just as well because i was rather full of enthusiasm for what turned out to be another Scottish classic. I got useful info on the local area and advised who to contact re. my interest in things meteorological (Braemar very interesting in this respect!!). Friendly atmosphere. Very clean warm and cosy and an excellent breakfast ( thanks Alastair).
Have to return as there are quite a few Munros just waiting to be bagged. Thanks very much Sarah/Alastair.

Met by Sarah the owner with a glowing smile and a friendly welcome. Sarah made us most welcome firstly making a nice warm drink with fresh home baked cakes..........just what we needed after our long journey.
Sarah went through the guest house amenities, village amenities and showed us to our guest room. The room was cosy, spacious, clean and very inviting. The room we had was equipped with Sky TV, tea-tray and hairdryer. The en-suite was clean and well equipped with all the essentials required for our stay.
Breakfast was delicious with a choice of times and food and plenty of it. There is also a sitting room that can be used to relax with internet access and you can even enjoy a wee dram of whisky with donations to a good cause! Excellent for cyclists as there is cycle storage and a place to dry out your clothes.

I would recommend a visit to this lovely guest house, it's worth a visit just to meet Sarah and to enjoy her home-baking...................treat yourself next time you are heading to Braemar.

Room Tip: The room we had was the Stewart, lovely and faced onto the main road which was very quiet. I am a l...

We stayed here (fourth year on the trot now) for an annual birdwatching trip. Sarah and Al couldn't have been friendlier and more welcoming. Coffee and tea was prepared for us when we arrived and she made some fruit cake for us. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and the beds are comfortable. Everything worked in the room as it is supposed to. The breakfast was excellent quality as it has been every year.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good
