Stopped off here for a bite to eat - very disappointing - the food was not particularly interesting - the plates were not heated up so the foold got cold really quickly. My pudding was burned in the middle and both our puddings could have had a bigger portion of custard. Other people came in between us having our main course and having ordered our pudding so we had a long wait until their food was prepared until our pudding arrived. This was the only hotel in the village - it had a good location and outlook over the bay so could be a real opportunity to provide excellent food - pity it did not!

I stayed in room 1 in March 2013

So Helpful!
While I was there, I borrowed a "charges everthing" phone charger
I then found out that there is a camera, binoculars, bikes and a laptop all available for guest FREE, just for the asking
This wasn't mentioned anywhere so if you need something, you have to ask

The Room
The room was lovely, very spacious, comfortable, the bed was good and the towels huge and fluffy
The WiFi is fast and free - while I was there it was being upgraded to ensure all the other rooms get the same fast connection (i got 7mb)

The Hotel
Sitting in the front conservatoryand having breakfast was a real treat, it catches the morning sun, has great views
A great place to have a coffee and get ready for the day
The hotel has clearly had a lot of work very recently (new owners apparently) and while some parts of the hotel (especially outside) haven't been dealt with yet and are a bit worn, all the important stuff is right
The toilets downstairs are clean and look to have been recently refurbished and lots of areas have very obviously new paint and new flooring
There is a woodburner in the bar and an open fire in the lounge which great in the evening

While I was there the menu was limited to bar type food, - fish, pies, burgers etc because the kitchens had work going on and a new chef was due to start with a new menu
The food was actually pretty good, the menu really undersold it
If you want more than good "pub grub", check first and make sure the kitchens are fully up and running as planned

The outside needs repainting and the carpark has a few holes though no worse than may English roads after the winter
Incidentally, the carpark is huge - caravans and camper vans will have no problems

I will return
Although I only stayed in this hotel this time because I love the area and it seemed good value
After staying there I am now really looking forward returning
