We have just returned from a wedding in Bathgate where we stayed at the fabulous Bracklinn House b & b for an overnight stay. Nothing it seemed was a problem for Karen and Paul, who incidentally are so friendly and accommodating, from having the room available for us to change into before the wedding, to even offering to take us to the venue in their car - what a couple of stars!! On to the accommodation, what can I say, absolutely brilliant is probably not high enough praise from me, the rooms we were allocated were fantastic. Our room had a double bed and a single and there was still plenty of room to swing a cat - i,ve never understood that saying, why would you want to swing a cat in a room anyway?? I diverse, the bathroom was enormous and the shower - wow!!! I cannot praise this B & B enough from the warm , friendly welcome to the sad end when you have to leave such a fantastic place. There are little menu,s for you to tell Karen and Paul what you would like for your breakfast next morning, some people might find this a bind but we thought it was a great idea, that way we know what we are having and so do Karen and Paul.
Breakfast!! Oh my gosh!! What a spread waits for you, from cereal, to the breakfast you ordered the day before, unbelievable!!! There was fresh fruit on the table ( we had strawberries and blueberries on a plate in the centre of the table) and a massive plate with as many preserves and butter as you could manage. As you can guess we loved this place, if we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay again and again and again!!! If anybody is thinking of going to Edinburgh then seriously look at staying here as the train station is only a 5 minute walk from the B & B and it would save you from looking for parking in Edinburgh. We cannot praise this place enough and hope even in these hard times people give Bracklinn House a chance and they are around for many a year to come. Some people might think it is expensive but for us you get what you pay for - AND MORE - at this B & B, Karen always had a smile on her face and nothing seemed to faze either of them, good luck to both Karen and Paul we wish them well.
If you get the family room that we were in then you are very lucky, but i,m sure the rest of the roo...

Thank you very much for your messages and a special thank you for the glowing review you gave us and for adding some pictures. This is greatly appreciated and I can't thank you enough.
Paul and I were away for 2 nights (Sunday and Monday) to celebrate his 50th birthday and have just returned today. I did not have access to my e-mails while I was away so was unable to reply to you sooner. We don't normally get away at this time of the year but decided to make a bit of an effort for Paul's big 50.....
It was such a pleasure having you all stay with us and I hope if you are ever in this area again and looking for somwhere to stay you will pay us a visit.
Please say hello to Muriel, Tom and Greta from us and once again, thank you very much for your kind review.
take care for now
Karen and Paul
