“could teach the big boys a trick or two”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

I went to this premier inn with my wife and 3 year old as we were travelling up to St Andrews and this was an ideal stopping point. The premier inn itself was superb from start to finish - the parking easy, the reception staff friendly and helpful in every way, the rooms were clean and bright, the bed worthy of a top quality hotel, free wi-fi for 30 minutes and only 3 pounds for 24 hours thereafter - quite simply great. As suggested in my title this premier inn could teach the pretentious hotels a thing or two - simple rooms with quality service at budget cost of £29.00 as i booked this deal well in advance, the beefeater restaurant attached has a great selection of meals and deals also, caters well for children and the breakfast the next day we equally enjoyed, i cannot fault this place, the 2nd time we have stayed and look forwrad to my next trip up north. well done all.

I used to work in the travel industry and have always had issues with the Premier Inn, and my heart sank when my husband told me he had booked it for the night before we emigrated!
When we arrived I was looking for any fault I could - it took 10 minutes to check in as there was a long line and only 1 member of staff on the front desk. And 2 if us had to get 5 suitcases and 5 pieces of hand luggage to the 2nd floor with only 1 lift which was at the opposite end of the hotel to our room. Those were my only 2 gripes, neither of them a big deal.
The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the staff more than helpful. A lovely, quiet location (no stag and hen parties here!) and I will be more than happy to stay again.

We originally stayed at this hotel in September 2011 for a 2 night midweek break. We had such a lovely stay we decided to come back for our anniversary this year, as we didn't get to see everything we wanted to last year. The staff are very friendly & efficient, and the rooms are extremely comfy, clean, & finished to a much higher standard than you would expect for the price of the room. We booked on the £29/room offer (then added a 3rd night when the £19/room rate was offered) and as far as value for money goes we had absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

Very friendly and efficient staff. Very clean facilities and to a high standard. For the money - very good indeed. No complaints whatsoever. Booked here to visit relatives, but have stayed here before for both business and pleasure reasons.

We stayed at this Premier Inn for an overnight connection. It was clean, comfortable and very quiet. The staff was friendly, helpful, and careful to make the "restful night guarantee". The price for this room was reasonable, the booking process efficient. This was our first stay at a Premier Inn, and we would definitely stay at another one.

We booked a weekend at the Livingston Premier Inn near Edinburgh because it was guaranteed to be clean comfortable accomodation at affordable prices. We were not disappointed. The Hotel ,although a little outside Edinburgh City, had all that we needed for a short break including an adjacent restaurant / Bar which was of the same standard as the Hotel. The Staff in both Hotel and restaurant / Bar were very courteous and helpfull.
We will definitely stay there again on our next mini break to Edinburgh.

Stayed here on 21stSeptember 2012 Just as you would expect from a Premier Inn --- great staff, warm welcome from both ladies on reception, super room, clean, warm and great westerly view from our window.Watching the sun go down was one of the highlights!!!
Had dinner in the adjoining Beefeater, bit of a mixup as we thought we had a voucher for 2 free drinks, turns out these vouchers are not available in Scotland but the restaurant manageress saved our blushes by offering us a free dessert instead.Steak was to die for, cooked just as asked ---'Ask Chef just to give it a fright!!' --- Big 'Thank you' to our waitress Amanda, you made our night.
Next morning we came down dressed to go to a family wedding,me in my finery, husband in kilt. The ladies on reception were great, offering their compliments on our change in looks from the previous night when we had been very travel weary!! The banter made our day.
The following night we were staying at the supposedly 4* Inchyra Grange in Polmont.I would suggest
the staff there should take lessons in customer service from the Premier Inn staff, not just the Livingston staff, who were wonderful, but all the staff of every Premier Inn we have ever stayed at.They could learn an awful lot!!!
Looking forward to another excuse to stay at Premier Inn! (Any Premier Inn !!)

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor, views are great.
