“Perfection and tranquility. Nothing too much Trouble”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Stayed here for 2 nights 7-8 July 2013. Beautiful location. Had booked standard double but given "THE BARN" which is self contained alongside main hotel. The view from our front window was beautiful especailly as the weather was great throughout.
Katie the owner is so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Her evening meal was absolutely delicious - local produce and the scallops especially were devine! Breakfast equally good and her porridge and home made oatcakes were even better than my Mums!
Would thoroughly recommend this small hotel to anyone. Katie deserves to do well. She works so hard and her welcome would encourage anyone to stay.
We'll definately be back Katie.
Many thanks
Ian& Fiona Cruickshank. Aberdeenshire. Scotland

Room Tip: The barn is wonderful !

We stayed 1 night two couples .The Bed rooms were shabby .The evening meal was very expensive and no choice. To top it all a cat strolled around the dinning room while we were eating I doubt it has any star rating which it claims .on a good note the breakfast was very nice .The young waiters were very polite ,but saw nobody who was in charge . We were all exstreemly disapointed .We feel like we were ripped off .We would not recomend this hotel to anybody
We have never written a revue before so you can see how upset we were.

We stayed here for two nights and it is nicely located for the ferry port. I stayed in a single room and although very clean and comfortable the bedroom was dated. The en-suite was modern with a nice shower.
We did have our evening meal on one night and it was expensive albeit very good. The breakfasts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble.
Katy was very helpful, her cooking was excellent and the staff all very friendly.
The area around the house is very peaceful and quiet.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet. I stayed in a small single room which looked out over the loch and it was...

We stayed 2 nights and found Ardhasaig to be fantastic. The evening meal we had was as good as anything we've ever had and as for the breakfasts...well they are second to none.Katie is a great chef and host with the the happiest team around her.The two young lads who were waiting are the most polite waiters you'll ever come across. We would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Harris, thanks Katie and staff and best wishes for the future.

Room Tip: Dog friendly

Popped into the Ardhasaig and asked to book for evening meal the following evening - no problem was the response. Katie discussed our food preferences and booked us in even although a camera crew were coming to film the Ardhasaig the following day and evening!
Can't agree more strongly with all the positive comments of other guests at Ardhasaig. We were treated as royalty by Katie and her team. The film crew were there on our arrival in the lounge but this did not distract the staff from welcoming us warmly and attending to us all evening in a very professional manner. The food was simply superb. It was an enormous surprise to me that Katie even found time to speak with us and other diners in the lounge while drinking our coffee. Scottish food and hospitality at its highest. Thank you so much Katie and your team.

Just one glass of wine takes the price for a set dinner for 2 to over £100. These are London prices but unlike London the fish hasn't far to travel - it couldn't be fresher and the cooking is carried out with flair and imagination. Just slightly taken aback by the price!

Katie is the most remarkable person I came across during our 3 weeks Island hopping. She is so very kind and understanding and she goes way out of her way to make her guests as comfortable as possible. Her four course evening meals fully discussed in advance with her guests are not for anyone on a diet. The very best of everything is provided and prepared with imagination. Her temporary staff were a delight and well educated and a source of stimulating conversation. The fruit at breakfast is just fantastic, the varied breakfast menu has to be seen to be believed. Scallops with every fish dish and not an excuse for a scallop-huge and full of flavour. We stayed in The Barn and it was like a honeymoon suite although it is some time since our honeymoon. I can think of no where that could better this experience. She asked if we were writing a book - I hope nobody does as we would have to book far to far in advance to secure a slot.

Room Tip: The Barn is really super but I feel sure that all the rooms are equally attractive.
