We stayed a night in the Ferry Inn during our recent trip to Scotland. it was a pleasant surprise for the price and the location. Comfortable room and modern en suite bathroom, nice menu and a small bar. They had a harpist playing at dinner which was a nice touch. Everyone was friendly except the woman tending bar who was a bit of a wet blanket. Very convenient being only a few minutes away from the larger city of Portree.

Having been booked into the hotel by our company thought that it may have "been a border line case". Nothing could have been further from the truth. Although we got there late on and the kitchens were about to close we were able to dine. Fantastic food - great rooms - brilliant scenery - quiet beer and friendly hosts. Five star quality. Snug as a bug in bed thanks to the fitted Weatherseal Windows!

After a horrendous meal in Portree (avoid Central Restaurant), we were absolutely delighted with the fantasticly fresh and tasty food we got here. We were lucky that the rather cheap and tacky looking restaurant near the pier had stopped serving as the food in the Ferry Inn was really brilliant.
The small bar only had a few other drinkers, but you can't expect much more in such a small hamlet.

Last summer paid for a meal for a family of four then proceeded into the bar to enjoy the tradional music but were turned back at the door as we had children. Will not be returning. We were told locally that the music was to do with Talisker Whisky promotion!!!
