Stayed here in August of 2012. Arrived on a gloriously sunny afternoon to be met by a grumpy woman in reception. It almost felt like being back at school as the answers to our questions were barked back at us. Lovely room at the back of the hotel overlooking a wonderful selction of plants/shrubbery. We ate in the hotel that evening, between the alloted times of 8.00-8.30 pm. The waiter tried to be ever-so correct about things and when our bootle of wine was brought to the table it was just plonked down and off he flounced! Again, the breakfast time slot, only 30 minutes, seems rather limiting. The owner, who served us breakfast, is a very charming lady, and I feel this place has great potential.

my husband and l along with our grandson went for lunch, we were greeted by a very unhelpful grumpy woman in the bar, my husband decided to order a burger and was told none left..... l ordered fishcakes. minutes later another couple arrived and ordered burgers AND GOT THEM, however l was pleased l went without as they were certainly not happy with them, eventualy ( 35minutes later ) my lunch arrived ... one fishcake on a plate which cost nearly £6 it was only lukewarm so was unable to eat it.... my husband ordered soup which was also just lukewarm and tasteless. the whole place was filthy and cold staff just did not care. DO NOT GO THERE it is a disgrace to the beautuful island of Skye

Had the back room over looking the hillside. Dont be put off, it may sounds like a poor relation to the sea view rooms. But it was very good. Lovely room with nice view. The restaurant food is great as well. Service excellent.

We didn't stay here, we only ate. The food was of average quality, I would have been happy with the meal if I had payed £6.99 for it in a Brewers Fayre or something like that. So paying nearly £15 for it was a sting. All the food here is overpriced and only very marginally better than what you can get in the far less pretentious bar by the ferry terminal. If returning I would opt for the Pier Bar as they have local ales from the brewery right next door and have a selection of hearty meals for under half the price of the Ferry Inn. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the large window from the dining area at the Ferry Inn provides a pleasant view. The interior, however, falls well short of what would be expected from a look at the menu prices. In summary, overpriced meals of average quality in an average establishment that probably only survives on trade from tourists that have no other option.

Very overpriced menu and a cheap dining environment, from the imitation electric plastic candle ( how romantic ) to the cheap dinnerware. The people who served us had no clue about the menu options and it was a challenge to obtain more than three words from them. Food i would rate as just scrapping ok i would expect more again for the price you pay.
At the end of our meal for unknown reasons we had to wait 15 minutes for the bill.

Reasonable family run small hotel , rooms were nice and clean , bathroom quite small but overall adequate. Continental breakfast is normal with an excellent selection of food or £5 extra for a cooked breakfast which was excellent but seems a bit expensive. Nice friendly service from the staff. Free wifi for half an hour only is a bit restrictive.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years, mostly in wintertime. The people who run it are amongst the most helpful I have come across. Arriving on the ferry from the Western Isles on a motorcycle with a flat tyre, they got me a repair after a phone call, which saved me a long trip home by RAC. Rooms are fine, bar is good fun at the weekend. I can only assume previous negative reviewers were in a different hotel. Excellent all round.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear have no view at all, but a hotel room is for sleeping in, after all.
