“A fantastic place to stay on the Isle of Skye!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2008

An overall great experience. The lodging is very quaint, clean and well maintained. The food was fantastic, and clearly a major focus. Dinner had a few options to choose from, and between the two of us we sampled a few with great enjoyment. Kirsty & Simon are a delight, and always available to help, and very flexible around our schedule which had us in late, and out early for a dawn hike of the nearby Quiraing. They take clear pride in the inn, which I understand they only recently took over. Highly recommended!!!

We stayed at the Glenview for one night during a recent trip to Scotland. Kirsty and Simon were fantastic hosts. The room was great... very comfortable, with a fantastic view of the island. And the food was incredible. Our dinner was made almost entirely from locally sourced food and included some of the best seafood I've ever had. Everything about this hotel is designed with an eye toward eco-sustainability... without sacrificing comfort in the least. I would go back and stay there again in a heartbeat.

We visited The Glenview Hotel for two nights during our round trip in Scotland in August 2008 and this hotel was one of the best places we stayed during our trip!
The location was really great, stunning view to the ocean and only a few minutes drive away from the kilt rocks and the old man of storr - two fantastic sceneries of Isle of Skye.
Kirsty who runs the hotel is really friendly and helpful, and Simon who is the chef served some really delicious food. All of it with fresh ingredients and made from the start.
We heartly recommend this place for anyone who plans on visiting the wonderful Isle of Skye : )

Just back from staying at the Glenview hotel for a few days. One of the nicest hotel's I've stayed in for a long time. Really excellent food both at dinner and breakfast, delicious wines and Simon and Kirsty did their utmost to make us feel at home. In fact, it was just like staying with friends. Our room was quite small but perfectly comfortable. We'll definitely be going back.

  • Liked — The food
  • Disliked — The only minor grumble was that my pillow was a bit flat and lumpy but its a very minor grumble compared to how good everything else was

The food here is stunning - fresh, good quality, local ingredients, presented beautifully and served in a restaurant with an super friendly atmosphere and great views from the front windows. My only regret is that I didn't have room for pudding and that we weren't staying the night so didn't get to sample breakfast!

When we arrived at the Glenview Hotel we were a bit concerned that we had made a big mistake - the weather was poor, the single track seemed to go on for ever and the room was dated. However once we met Simon and Kirsty we knew we were going to enjoy our stay. Having taken over the hotel only a few months ago they have not had the chance to fully refurbish the place to their own tastes and standards. However they have managed to create a warm friendy environment making you feel relaxed and comfortable, knowing that you are going to enjoy your stay. Simon is an excellent chef having worked in some of Edinburgh's most prestigious restaurants and he doesn't disappoint you. The food is fantastic (including breakfast) and well worth booking for this alone. Kirsty is attentive and knowledgable, both as front of house and as landlady, and they both demonstrate a real passion for this new venture. Despite not yet having the time to to complete the transformation of the Glenview into a restaurant with rooms this is a gem of a place.
